The song, Doom Crossing, is coming into my mind on why Slayer and Isabelle are connected. Both games came out at the same time, and of course there were memes and, in this case, as pretty cool song.

And while Hades politely explained there are procedures to this sort of thing, Doomie led me out of the Underground, unopposed, without turning back to see if I was following him until we left, so he wouldn't die too. And while there we got Villager and Cereza. SAMUS: Oh I guess that makes sense... as much sense as anything else makes around here. I am glad too we are getting an explanation why "oh why don't the ones with the legendary pokemon just revive everyone without having to go through all the other worlds" since yeah the fun is going through every world here and reviving them through their unique ways but if they had the legendaries who had control of time space, why go through the additional effort of doing that? So glad Sephiroth popped up to snubb that card and then heh Doom Slayer popped up so he went crawling back in his cave. And yeah as traditional animal crossing doesn't have revives makes sense to attach that with Doom Slayer due to his relationship with Isabelle... and since Bayonetta's witch you tag her too. I'm guessing the next major arc will be Fire Emblem though we may first get one shots for Earthbound/mother and F-Zero first to reuinte the original 12.

My guess is that the OG Isabelle wasn’t sent to hell because she never died in the first place. Instead, she escaped to break the news to Doomguy, leading to the two ripping and tearing until they found and rescued Bayo and Villager.

So why was Villager in Hell?

Well he was at the villain table in earlier comics but to explain why people consider him a villain. Basically when he was introduced in Smash for 3DS/Wii U, there has been a lot of fan art portraying him as a bloodthirsty character that belongs in horror films and games.

Interesting way to bring Bayonetta and the Villager back. I was hoping to see them drawn with x-eyes too. Well... maybe next week. At least Simon and his dark queen can be together again.
