Hey Dad #6

Hey Dad,

It's been a while since I've posted here. I apologize for that, it's been a bit busy lately. I've been trying to set this month up for a while and it's seeming to go really well.

I wanted to be able to get two Dead Space videos out this month, and also get the October Video out this month as well. Both of those things are going to happen and I'm really happy with it, because I've been working on this month for a while now.

The Dead Space videos are doing great, and I'm really happy with them overall. I love talking about horror in general. I feel like it's the genre that I have the easiest time articulating. I really enjoy dissecting horror because I feel like it's such a deep genre, and every take on it, good or bad, come's with tons of possible analysis.

The October Video is coming out definitively on October 30th. Right down to the deadline. In fact, I'm really proud of it, and we've spent the last month getting the score in place. Actually, I'll be posting the trailer for the the October Video immediately after I post this, so enjoy that. I hope you're all as excited as I am, because I put a lot of effort and emotion into this one. It should be a funny and interesting time.

As for games, movies, books, and music, I haven't experienced a ton. 

I watched Clerks 3 which I thought was for the most part, really bad. The final act was actually surprisingly emotional for me. I'm not sure if this is just because I've been watching these characters since high school. but it hit me pretty hard. From a technical point of view, the movie was very poorly written, and I hated the first two acts. I couldn't exactly recommend watching it unless you've seen the previous two and are really intent on finishing out the "saga'.

I've started, but haven't finished, A Plague Tale: Requiem. I'm honestly not sure why people don't talk about these games more. They're not too bad, and I would honestly put them on par with all the other cinematic games out there. They stand with God of War, Spiderman, and those ilk for me. They're really interesting games, mechanically, and the stories and hooks are pretty emotional. They have some depth and it's disappointing that everyone I talk to says "I've never played those, but I always wanted to." 

I re-watched On The Count of Three recently. If you haven't seen it, I'd highly recommend it. It was easily my favorite movies of 2022 so far. I say that with some reservations though because I have a lot of catching up to do. That could change as I watch more of the movies that I missed out on.
