Wanted to offer a *polite* um, actually, re: the boys saying the design of Geidi Prime and the Harkonnens was probably faithful to the book—the Harkonnens are not described to all be bald in the book, and their environs are depicted as generically opulent. The black-and-white BDSM, everyone-is-bald-and-horny aesthetic seems to be drawn from H.R. Giger's designs for Jodorowsky's Dune as they mentioned, and created by Villeneuve's very talented design team.

His Dune obsession has very much made its way into that show too and I love it!

Also I agree w Mitch on Dune 2 but I respect the movie a lot

2024-04-09 20:10:12 +0000 UTC“the movie was anticlimactic”. Not everything needs to be some big triumphant “this is the end”. There’s more than one way to make a movie. I only hear these sorts of complaints from people who grew up watching action movies from the 80s and 90s and are mad that new movies aren’t like what they liked when they were kids. I’m sorry Mitch, culture changes, the times are changing. I’m almost 37, we’re close in age, it’s time to get over it.

I am sure it's true to the books but I don't think that translates as well to the movie. I also agree with Casey that I want a 6 hour dune movie.
