Hey boys, just wondering why you started to put out the podcast with video on YouTube? I think its amazing just wondering if you could share anything about some of the changes you guys have made in the year. About to watch Rust and Cassady’s ep now! Wow how fun to say

Noah Wright

This week I dropped my car off at a mechanic and when they took my keys to check it out my phone connected to the stereo and started playing a Doughboys ep. it was the drop in the KFC beyond ep where wiger talks about headbutting a woman over “Kissed a Girl” by Katy Perry and I felt immense embarrassment. So my question is have you experienced a similar situation where something you privately like became public against your will?

Malcolm

Would you ever participate in a podcast cruise?

Rocky Choad

Peanut butter?

meatlazer1

I've worked at Costco for a while in the different fresh departments and I've made a lot of, and eaten a lot of, the rotisserie chickens. There was a story last week about David Chang "slamming" the chickens, saying they "weren't seasoned". I know for sure those chickens are like 8 percent salt so I don't know what he's talking about. How do you feel about the Costco birds and do celebrity chefs really need to weigh in on these kinds of things?

unclegravyboat

If you came home to find your pets had turned into human beings is there anything they could say that would convince you that they truly are your pets?

James

What drew you to starting video, should we expect more visual gags?

Lucas Escalada

Where are you guys at with hot drinks right now? How much coffee? Any tea or broth in your diet?

Michael Morris

What is the best shape for food? (For example: triangle, square, circle, etc…)

Pierce Bauer

We gotta talk about Wendy’s price changes. Wtfuck is going on? What’re we suppose to do?

Pierce Bauer

Do you have any recommendations for fans of movies and TV for people visiting LA? As longtime LA residents and people in the “biz” I can imagine you think most of the traditional touristy options in this sphere are pretty lame. I don’t want to walk Hollywood Blvd and take a picture with Elmo or ride a TMZ bus, but with a city so rich in entertainment history I’d hope you may be familiar with a cool excursion for a friend who doesn’t want to hike Eaton Canyon. Thanks, love you both.

Matt Bennett

You have to move to somewhere in the US that's not LA, NYC, Chicago, or the Boston area. Where do you go based on your food preferences?

Turtle from Entourage

also, will mitch ever set foot in casa wiger (and chez natalie)?

MJ

What are your thoughts on the term "foodie"? Personally, I think it's a classist way to say "I like to eat good food", but wondering about your take.

Turtle from Entourage

Is there a local chain (not necessarily LA-based) that you think would do well expanding nationally?

Turtle from Entourage

Let's "pretend" you hate each other. If you could ban each other from ever consuming a single food item, which would you pick to cause the most suffering? And/Or, which food item would you force each other to eat everyday?

chris l

What’s your perfect Valentine’s Day meal? And what is the best Valentine’s Day candy? Even though I am married my mom and dad still give me candy every year and the best candy is these cherry gummy hearts. They are big and really chewy!

Mary Paren

I have a drawer full of fast food sauce packets. What’s in your sauce drawer?

Karlie Menzel

Hey Doughboys, my wife is from a small area of Kentucky that calls the chili topping for hot dogs, "Hot Dog Sauce". She refuses to call it by any other name despite the rest of the world having no clue what she is referring to. Could you start a movement to call the chili topping, "hot dog sauce" so I don't have to explain to others what it means?

Clinton Colliver

What's with the pillow?

Stephen Navarrete

Hi Doughboys team, I just had Popeyes and I got two pies at the suggestion of the stoned kid working there. I think he knew I was stoned too and holy smokes they were so good. The second was reheated later but that first hot one was perfect and I even had some Pistachio ice cream to go with it. Has the best fast food desert been discussed? If not what would be your choice? Id go with Popeyes as I never think of ordering desert at a fast food place.

Matt G.

Wiger, will you ever set foot in Mitch’s house?

Alan

Hey Doughboys Crew, I'm currently reading the book Franchise: The Golden Arches in Black America by Marcia Chatelain, which is about, as the title suggests, the long, complex relationship between McDonald's and black communities in America. It's a really interesting read and got me wondering whether any of you have read any good books about or related to fast food or food more generally? If not, I definitely recommend Franchise. Thanks!

Paul Nichols

Hey boys, I am in college for television broadcasting right now, it’s going really well and you guys have always inspired me, do you have any recommendations on how to get into working in comedy when in the industry

Noah Wright

Has anyone ever submitted a comprehensive(ish) list of foodservice chains in the US and measured it against your catalog? I’m guessing if you include everything from restaurants with 2+ locations to grocers and gas stations the number is in the tens of thousands.

Philip Ehlke

I know you've spoken negatively on the pod before about eating outside, but I was wondering- are there any foods you specifically associate with outdoor eating, like on a picnic or a park day? For me it's a turkey sub

Terry Mc

I visited my sister in Long Beach and rode the metro to travel around the area. I found the experience to be fairly tense compared to other experiences riding the metro in New York and Baltimore. Does Nick enjoy riding the metro just because he likes trains, or is it because he enjoys the thrill?

db32

What’s with Mitch and the pillow?? What’s he trying to hide from us? 👀

🖤Cassie🖤

Dear Doughboys Crew! I was wondering if you guys had ever eaten Hawaiian bbq before? If not…May I recommend Matikis island bbq. There is one located in the LBC. If you’re down to try. It is amazing! Love the show. Go lakers! Can you dig it!!! Spooooonman 😂

Rudy Bribiesca

Is there anything you order, expecting it to be fucked up or poorly made, only because when it's done right, it's a top fast food item? For me, it's the Nachos Bel Grande from Taco Bell. Probably 9 out of 10 times, it's a mess, has a bad balance of toppings, or is just bad. But the 1 time they nail it, it's one of my favorites.

Jake from MI

Dear Nick, Mitch, Emma and Yusong, One of my guilty pleasures is trashy reality cooking/food shows. If y’all had your own shows what would the premise be?

Michael Maloney

Past Guest Draft?

Erik Gibson

If the moon is really made out of cheese, what kind of cheese do you think it is?

Andy Pederson

Do you guys have any food regrets? Meals that you wish you'd ordered but then they took that meal off the menu or the restaurant went out of business? When you're craving both X and Y but order X and wish you'd gotten Y instead?

Mandy

In Neal Stephenson’s seminal cyberpunk novel Snow Crash, the federal government has collapsed to make way for territories ruled by big businesses; the protagonist initially works for one of the country’s strongest franchises, a pizza parlor run by the mafia. In the event that our government collapses, which franchise restaurants will rule the West Coast, the East Coast, the South, and the Midwest?

Seabass

Moral/eco issues aside, have you ever heard something about a certain type of fast food (urban legend, rumor, etc) that caused you to not eat that food at future visits? Or worse, avoid the restaurant altogether? I think the taco bell meat origin is a common one (horse, etc), but when I was an impressionable 3rd grader, I stopped eating McDonalds fries because my older brother claimed they tasted like blood.

From Parts Unknown

Hey Feedbag Crew! If you each could be little stinkers and remove any one item from a chain restaurant’s menu forever, which item would it be and why?

Anthony D’Elia

Hello Nick, Mitch, Emma, and Yusong, Sending through the question below from my boyfriend who was too afraid to comment this question himself! I am a new doughboys double subscriber and while listening to older episodes I noticed that the size of the hog on Michelangelo's David comes up a lot. An interesting theory is that David is sporting a shrunken hog because he was facing off against goliath and terrified. So it's not small, just experiencing some shrinkage! My question to you is what do you consider your own personal goliath, metaphorical or otherwise, that makes your hogs shrivel up? Thanks for all the laughs, Sarah (writing for Ed).

Edward Merritt

In my household, once a week we will have a “fend for yourself” night. This means dinner is up to what we have in the house (no DoorDashing allowed). Wondering what you all would make, based on the things you already have in your place. We always have a block of cheddar cheese and tortillas, so I usually go for a quesadilla. It’s extra good if we have some kind chorizo or even a Cajun sausage. Surprisingly delicious in a quesadilla. Thanks, dough gang!

Connor Handy

If in the future you guys opened up a Doughboys fast casual chain, what would be on the menu?

Schuyler Hunt

This is for Emma - I'm dying to know if you've had the boys follow up with the personal growth session that you talked about at the end of the latest Steak n Shake Emotional Extravaganza. As much as we all love the bullshit, these parasocial relationships are now so well developed that I'm emotionally invested in the wellbeing of those two. Thanks.

Jayce Newton

Hey Doughboys, Emma, Yusong and Amelia! What's the most popular food you don't like? All my friends think I'm a freak because I just don't like cheese. Only mozzarella on pizza or has a stick. I've tried all kinds of cheese but I don't like any of it. Because I'm a freak apparently. Thanks! Kevin Thibault (pronounced Tebow)

justlikekevin

Do you prefer drive thrus with two windows (one for paying and one for food pickup), or a one stop shop?

Tracy Sanchez

Hi Doughboys! I am currently on a 3 month trip to South America and getting to try all of the different foods from each country and culture has been maybe the biggest highlight so far, if you could pick one place at the top of your list for trying the local cuisine or authentic national dish, where would you go?

Marc Levender

Often sports drafts get looked back on with the benefit of hindsight and analyzed/redrafted by media orgs. Now that some time has passed, is it time to redraft the oceans?

JB

They can turn board games, amusement park rides and now toy lines into major motion pictures. What chain would make the best movie. On the other hand, what cinematic franchise would make the best chain?

Robert Ross Adler

Some parts of the calendar are replete with great food holidays, while other parts of the year are relatively fallow periods. What month should get a new holiday, and what should it commemorate?

Joshua Tom

When I was little, my dad found a band aid in his Red Robin burger. My parents continued to go to Red Robin, so I could play the Austin Powers pinball machine they had in the lobby, but wouldn’t order any food. Is there any restaurant you go to for some thing or experience that isn’t the food? PS: A while back I wrote in to ask about what to do with a project I felt embarrassed by, and Nick responded "well we release every episode of Doughboys" and I think about it a lot because it is very funny and also helped me abandon my mentality of not sharing my work. So thanks!

Lucas Nyhus

I see and hear commercials that are always trying to make things a cultural moment with companies, or I see companies do things that have turned into a cultural norm. Like McDonald's having Brian Cox talk about eating the melted cheese out of a burger wrapper, or Five Guys and their need to put a bunch of fries in your bag. I was wondering what are some things you see restaurants do that have either turned into a thing or parts of the food experience they've tried to turn into something? Is there anything you have experienced as part of a meal that you'd want to become a thing? Thanks, love you, bye!

Justin Schafer

How do the producers feel about Mitch’s Donkey Kong stylin’ those mic mounts during the video records? Which are great fun by the way.

Owen Robertson

A question I’ve posted since tomorrow war month. The tomorrow store: you’re transported 30 years in the future, starving. What chain do you visit and what futuristic items do we find? P.S I work for Capital Roots, a food access non profit in upstate New York focused on providing fresh, local produce to pantries, food deserts and schools - thanks for all the laughs during some tough (and busy) years. - Della

Della

Do you guys like Lego? Do you have any sets? My favorite set is my baby yoda set, or the Seinfeld apartment. The next one i want to buy is the Payakan set from avatar 2.

Max Cargill

Some people have started to use the word “eats” before describing a food's texture. For example, on Top Chef, Padma might say that “the contestant’s chicken eats chewy,” or that "this French fry eats soggy." Will the Doughboys start talking like this?? If so I will walk in front of a slow-moving train. Thanks guys!

Alex

In recent years, every business has started experimenting with how many different flavors of their product they can churn out. A trend that started with Oreos has now lead to Peeps flavored Pepsi, Fruitcake Mountain Dew, Van Leeuwen's Grey Poupon ice cream, and Brach's Hotdog and Hamburger jelly beans. What are your thoughts on this ever-growing trend to push the limits, and do these strange concoctions pique your interests (#FlavorChaser) or are these experiments just a waste of resources (#WasteofTaste)

Bradley Hill

Is there a seasonal chain restaurant item, or even fruit or vegetable or something that you get excited for every year? I only started liking persimmons like 2 years ago, and now I look forward to them every year.

conor woods

Has delicious food ever made you angry? When I eat an amazingly good meal, if people don’t know me, they’ll ask why I look upset…it’s because it angers me to know that food this good is out there in the world, and I am not having it all the time. It’s a silly thing (and I’m not really -that- angry), but it happens

Mike Greiner

If you could snap your fingers and make any fast food item appear at any time, with the rule that health implications apply, what would it be?

Dan Palesano

Is there anything you do that flies in the face of tradition when it comes to food? Alternatively, is there any faux pas you have committed when dining in a culturally foreign environment? I remember when I visited Germany and went out drinking with my German host and his friends. We were doing a cheers and I did not tap my glass on the table before drinking. (I noticed too late and my host pointed it out later). Oops! I am also thinking of the subtle detail in GoodFellas where Robert De Niro's character is pouring ketchup on a homemade Italian meal. 'Eyyy!

Jackson Wright

Since starting the podcast, have there been any chains that you have added to your rotation after reviewing it?

Kyle

Why was Mitch nude near a vicious dog?

Lee Creighton

I love real sugar mountain dew, it's a bit harder to find but if I see it at the gas station or somehow a miracle happens and it's at the grocery I will buy that in a heart beat. What hard to find item food drink or otherwise is something that you will buy no matter what you are doing?

AndyXD(not related)

Me and my sister were talking about this the other day and wanted to get your input. What kind of food would you be most devastated by if someone punched it. Like a punch down onto your meal at full force. Thanks!

Zach Zweifler

What kind of toy would you put in a happy meal to represent you?

Austin Brungardt

I've had to look at my diet for health reasons and realized the disgusting amount of cheese and salami I snack on on the reg. Whats a snack that you eat an embarrassing amount of?

Jesse

In the midst of the shutdown, my wife, Sara, and I got all the supplies to try our hand at making Mr. Slice's famous New England Bar Pizza. It's truly a five fork experience, but the thing that stood out most was the sauce! We don't buy pre-made pizza sauce anymore and just continue to go back to that sauce recipe that Mitch shared with the dipshits of Reddit. Wondering it you all have a go-to recipe that you refuse to ever deviate from when making your favorite eats and, if so, how'd you find it? A friend? A family member? Your favorite doughy podcast host? Thanks for the recipe, Mitch! Appreciate you all! - Adam

Adam Wood

Have y'all ever ordered a big, heaping order of fajitas, only for them to just leave the tortillas out of the order? If so, do you (A) not eat it and return it, (B) eat it nacho style and just dip them chips in it and munch away, or (C) just kinda pour the topping on them fajitas and eat it as a kind of a burrito bowl? Also, if you answer C, is that technically a hot salad? I mean, it is, right?

Pheelup Mybaloney

Some time in the last few months, Subway got rid of Sweet Onion sauce and replaced it with a Teriyaki Sweet Onion sauce. I don't go to Subway a lot, but I've gotten Sweet Onion on pretty much every sandwich I've gotten from there for the last 10+ years. I'm bummed! What fast food menu changes have impacted your regular order?

Clay Pittman

Nice going!

Jonathan

What’s your go-to snack to bring on an airplane (or a long choo-choo trip)?

Mary Vanatta

Jersey Mike's recently hired Danny DeVito as a spokesperson for their current commercials, they're fine. If you were going to hire a celebrity to promote a chain restaurant, which celeb for which chain? Assume Mitch already has the Pizzeria Regina gig. Thanks!

Matt Luken

I am also a man in my early 40's. What advice would you give for the best way to handle a midlife crisis? Like Mitch, I've also gotten into making pizza, but that only does so much to distract me from impending oblivion. Anyway, some ideas: 1. Get jacked 2. Weed 3. A weird hobby Not that interested in cars, and don't want to have an affair (even if I could). That's my weird question, thanks!

Jonathan

If you could Frankenstein your perfect burger what would it be? I think the Patty and cheese from in and out with the bbq sauce from carls and that McDonald’s BIC Mac bun would be pretty awesome.

Russell Wise

If you could combine elements from different fast food chains to make a single, perfect franken burger. What would you choose for each part?

Danny

What up doughboys fam! Here’s my question: WHEN THE FUCK ARE WE GONNA GET MORE DEL TACO ON THE POD?! We’ve gotten like 8 Taco Bell episodes, and ONLY 2 DEL EPS?! WTF?! There have been so many menu updates that call for an ep: stuffed quesadilla taco, loaded crunchtadas, epic tortas….Nick if you love Del Taco so much, show it some love for gods sake….as a follow up, what’s your go to Del order? Love ya’ll, please don’t mistake my passion for vitriol…love Chase - @del_taco_fan1 on IG

Chase Hoyt

Concert dates are starting to be announced. Who's everyone looking forward to seeing this summer?

Patrick Keane

A couple years ago I quit my job of 13 years as a microbiologist - a job I hated - and totally changed my career. I was a big fan of a bakery in my town, and I saw on their social media that they were hiring, and I applied. For some reason they gave me a chance, and for the last year and a half I’ve been a professional bread baker at an award winning bakery. Learning the all the subtleties and nuances of bread has been so very rewarding. I’ve physically worked harder, made less money, and for worse benefits than my old career; but I couldn’t be happier. If you were to make a dramatic career pivot into the food service industry, what specialization would you want to pursue? If you’re in Nashville again sometime, come by Dozen Bakery! I love y’all.

Derek Waddell

Are you guys excited for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

Kyle

What does everyone measure, head to rump? I don’t wanna hear about no legs

Jared Neiswender

I recently received someone else’s delivery order in addition to my own. It was dropped off to my apartment, so I didn’t know until after the driver had left. I called the restaurant and they had me call the driver, who then returned to pick up the extra food. I always assumed that once something had been delivered, it couldn’t/shouldn’t be returned, in case the food had been tampered with. Am I naive in thinking that, or was this a weird move by the restaurant?

Mark Pitman

What dish do you cook to impress someone?

Oscar Reyes

Let’s talk apples: what’s the best all around apple varietal? My vote goes to Pink Lady. What’s better, a small apple or a big boy? Sometimes those little ones be hittin. Finally, what do you think of Tim Cook’s tenure as CEO of Apple? Mailbag crew, I love you!

Sam Silsbee

Are you guys planning on going on tour again anytime this year? Would love to have you guys out to Denver again!

Matthew Robison

As someone on the spectrum, it can be super overwhelming to go into any restaurant. I usually have to study the menu before hand so I don't get choice paralysis. Also noise and light can be huge issues. When I go zout it usally to the same places. Applebees at noon on a weekday at the bar is the ideal situation for me, the menu and food are fairly consistent and at that time of day there is very little foot traffic. Are there any places that you think would be good for someone on the spectrum?

Mark Pangle

If you could apply the Pizza Hut/Taco Bell combination treatment to two other chain restaurants, what combo would you want?

David Tres

Which restaurant has the best complementary accompaniment? It’s been established that Red Lobster’s Cheddar Bay Biscuits are like crack, and unlimited breadsticks and salad is a wonderful perk from Olive Garden, but what are your favorites?

minnesnowta

Are there any discontinued and/or regional DRANKS that you still miss and wish you could grab? There was a Mello Yello Cherry available around 2002-03 that was incredible and also a Fresca Black Cherry that I've heard you can still get in certain areas but I look for them when I travel and have not found them in years.

Lydon Bergin

My friend in Australia sent me a bunch of Aussie snacks and some vegemite to try. What are some good US snacks to send back? I am in the Boston area so regional ideas would be good too.

Meaghan Whalen-Kielback

What non-U.S. based fast food chain are you curious about trying? Philadelphia has an Italian pizza chain called Alice. As far as I can tell it is only in Euope and Philadelphia.

Joshua Ferris

How do you fight the “doom and gloom” of the winter months?

Bryan Gerace

Ooh this is a fun question, but mostly I want them to choose this question so we can hear everyone try a Scottish accent.

Jonathan Oden

what's a flavor combo that you were suprised by? I'll go first, seasame oil on vanilla ice cream. I also really love a pizza (usually a |Neopolitan-style) with goat cheese & pepperoni

David Powell

I often make "stunt meals" to make for special occasions, complicated recipes or just ones that look fancy. Beef Wellington, Coq au Vin, Mapo Tofu. Do you have go-to recipes or meals you order that lean toward a complicated presentation?

Travis Carr

You are magically going to be turned into a food at the grocery store for a month. What do you choose to be in order to survive, avoiding either being purchased and eaten, or expiring and being thrown away?

Jacob Mouw

Have any of you ever had King Cake for Mardis Gras? And what is the best desert that is associated with a holiday?

Michael Martinez

Have you ever watched a Movie or TV show or anything else, and it has made you NOT want to eat something ever again?

Brian B.

Wiger got me into it too

David Powell

IE a fancy restaurant's take on a McFlurry, or a Cheesy Gordita Crunch

Andrew Saada

What iconic dishes or concepts from fast food would you be most interested to see an "elevated" version of?

Andrew Saada

Knowing the ins and outs of the restaurant business better now than when you started, what restaurant would you two open and run? Considering profitability and enjoyment.

Dustin Waters

What's cuisine makes the best kebabs?

Cooper Kerplunk

Hi Doughboys, Emma, Amelia and the ghost of Yusong. This question comes from across the pond - specifically Glasgow, Scotland. Not to perpetuate harmful but completely true stereotypes about our people, but we are big fans of fried food over here (Google “deep fried mars bar” and “deep fried pizza” for reference). Our question is this: what foodstuff not normally prepared in this fashion would you like to see get the deep fryer treatment? Och aye the noo, frrreeeedom etc. Love from Alice and Jimmy x

James Gage

If you could have anyone - living or dead - to guest on the show and force them to eat awful fast food, who would it be and what food would you force them to endure?

tiny baby kitty man

My name is also Eric Z if that helps lol

Zwizz Productions

What’s the best condiment in Fast Food currently. Is it Arby’s Horsey sauce, the Chik-Fil-a sauce, or is it some sauce I’ve never heard of? What your Mt sauce more?

Jason Malone

What is one topping on pizza, ice cream or anything you were like I’m not eating this but when you tried it you actually liked? Thanks!

Zwizz Productions

It drives me nuts when people rub wooden chopsticks together at Japanese restaurants. I don’t rub my chopsticks together and have never had an issue with splinters, ever. I think it’s actually considered rude in Japan. Are there any per peeves you have when it comes to other’s dining rituals and is there a nice way to say something about it if it is bothering you?

David Huckleberry

Wiger, what are your thoughts on the current season of Marvel Snap? What kind of deck are you working with these days?

Daniel Hershman-Rossi

What do you think Mario's and Luigi's favorite Italian food is?

John Doe

Hey Doughboys, Emma, Yudong AND Amelia! Are you guys Coke or Pepsi? Also, maybe a Sodie Pop draft could be cool. PS- I hope Mitch's penis is doing alright

Ryan Doorley

What are your takes on Pie Cut vs Pub Cut pizza? In Minnesota it is growing impossible to find a traditional Pie Cut! Pie cut is my cut.

Justus Niemeyer

Which cereal has the best mascot? My money is on the Honeycomb mascot- it’s like a mix between a Taz and a creature from The Labyrinth. Keep on chomping in the free world!

Patrick Gremillion

My beautiful wife wants you guys to do a dairy draft.

Willie Simpson

Howdy ho! What are all of your go-to karaoke songs? Or if you don’t do that kind of thing, what songs do you know well enough to pull off? (And maybe one that isn’t DMB, Mitch) ;) Also please do a karaoke episode on the double thank you that is all. -Riz from Boston
