My husband has switch to being vegetarian this year meaning I am effectively a vegetarian because I’m too lazy to cook two meals. I’ve actually gained weight because I’m constantly hungry and always snacking. What are some good, filling vegetarian foods? Thanks!

Steven Toth

how many glasses of gravy should I have a day?

How do you separate fads from facts? There are lots of food fads that come through society. How can we tell what is actually backed by research and legit or just marketing BS? Examples: low FODMAP, anti-inflammatory diet, Paleo, Keto, intermittent fasting, 1 gallon of water per day, superfoods, acai, AG1 (lol), collagen supplementation, etc. Thanks!

Joseph Derian

What are SMALL tweaks I can make to my eating habits? Big changes never last for me. My wife got me to stop putting sugar in my coffee and that stuck, but for example, going vegan would not.

Ben Pape

how much do you have to drink alcohol for it to be dangerous to stop?

brady maurer

I have a lot of friends/family on the keto diet. Some claim it’s good for lowering cholesterol. One person even told me to ditch margarine in favor of butter to lower cholesterol (she says the Keto diet encourages dropping vegetable oil spreads). This can’t possibly be true, can it? The Heart and Stroke Foundation definitely don’t support this. Thoughts?

Glau

Bring on Dan from knowledge fitghr

IYO, what's the best light domestic beer(health wise, LOL), and what's your favorite?

What are the dangers of salt and sodium, some tips and things we should look out for when dealing with sodium heavy foods?

Noah Wright

Is there any truth to the notion that some sugars are healthier than others? E.g. Is the similar sugar content of a fruit juice better than that of a cola because those sugars are natural? If so, how does that work?

Sol Harris

Are you being legally forced to do this, like how big tobacco has to pay for anti-smoking campaigns now

Simon Nyi

This is a Fast Food Podcast. Healthy eating isn’t an option.

jnortie

hell yeah, Ian. your partner rules.

britt hayes

Super important! My partner has worked with eating disorder patients for many years as a therapist. I've been surprised to learn how different the training and approaches of dieticians and nutritionists can be. Hot salad.

Ian Anson

Why is red meat considered not healthy in comparison to other animal meats like chicken, Turkey or fish?

Sean

This is a trap

Adam Humar

What's your opinion on slicing open a muffin and putting butter in it? (Cough cough mitch)

Conor Driscoll

If they could just explain the concept of nutrition, I think a lot of us could benefit

Trevor HIssong

Should I smoke before, during, or after eating lasagna? Which is healthiest??

Andy Buck

My wife has a lot of food intolerances (gluten and dairy chief among them) but as a result we end up eating pretty healthy most of the time. My question for all of you is, have you ever found an alternative food or ingredient you like better than the “real thing?” For example a really solid gluten free cookie or non-dairy ice cream. Thanks!

Colin L

My boyfriend just found out he is prediabetic, and is not able to see a nutritionist until the end of January. What are some good, filling, low-carb options for him to snack on? He prefers to eat like Mitch, pizza, steak, potatoes. How can we cut back on carbs but not make him feel deprived?

Amanda Garcia

Is there any health benefit from making things from scratch. I'm specifically thinking of Mitch's Bar Pizza, which is now a staple in our house. Does the subtraction of preservatives make a substantial difference? Thank you for being value to this shit show.

Jeff Pomaybo

dietetics undergrad here - I've definitely noticed Wiger taking a slightly more neutral/flexible approach to the way he talks about food, which I appreciate* and I'm sure many listeners do, too. If your nutritionist is on the same page, I'd love to hear her talk about intuitive eating and pursuing healthful behaviors (eating nutritionally dense foods, exercising) regardless of current or desired body size. *both as someone in recovery from an eating disorder and as someone pursuing a career as an eating disorder recovery therapist. also just want to add, because I feel like this is an appropriate prompt: I love listening to you guys so much, but sometimes it sucks to hear you use "fat" as a pejorative term. I don't want to get on a soap box here, but if you ever want to talk about it, I'd love to discuss! thanks for all the laughs xoxo

britt hayes

Is waking / jogging as good as using free weights at the gym?

Jon Dallis

Like a lot of people, I want to consume things I enjoy but worry about the consequences. What is the best way to maximise the enjoyment I get from food and drink without significantly affecting my health?

Kara

I have a hard time eating breakfast because of my adhd meds/early job, what can I put in a smoothie for protein/last me through the day? I know it’s not ideal but I’m struggling with bfast

Jaimie

What the happened to Mitch’s hog during the McNugget power hour???

Andrew Ogden

Considering their diets, about how much longer do Mitch and Wiger have to live? Ballpark figures.

Gavin Gibson

Would eating a Na'vi be considered cannibalism or is it ok because they're a different species?

Dan

Do you have suggestions on eating well when you don't feel like cooking? Years ago my friend and I were both struggling with how to motivate ourselves to eat well when we both lived alone, hated cooking, and were never going to spend time to meal prep. She decided to go to a nutritionist and they suggested she try to eat a simple balanced meal with things like popcorn, fruit or veg and yogurt. It sort of blew my mind that you could eat healthier and still be pretty lazy.

Maegan Harrison

A recent study apparently showed that we actually don’t need 8 cups of water per day, as this was a recommendation from the 1940s with no scientific backing. How much water should we actually be drinking? Related question: black coffee is 99.9% water, so does this count? I’ve always thought that the idea that coffee dehydrates you was a myth…thanks! — Andy aka TDR on the Doughscord

Andy Noel

Does it matter what time of day you eat your calories if you are looking at weight loss? I keep hearing not to eat late at night, but I don’t see why it matters when you eat.

Brandon

I've been told by my Dr. That I have to stop drinking alcohol, if I do that, is it okay for me to increase my intake of fast food?

Michael Martinez

I know fast food like fries and burgers are terrible for me so I eat in pretty extreme moderation (and let the doughboys do it for me instead). My question is how would you approach having fast food as part of a healthy day of eating? Do I compensate the calories by eating less somewhere else? Eat more fibre? Curious about your thoughts

Brandon

Are food sensitivity blood tests bullshit?

Joshua O'Toole

What are some good snacks that are low in saturated fat? I really like peanut butter and popcorn! I need something to replace or at least mitigate my peanut butter or popcorn consumption.

Jacob Moore

Hope this applies to more people than just me - at home, I stick to the low-FODMAP diet to help with bloating/IBS issues (TMI? Too bad). Then, when I go out to eat, I allow myself to have some of the foods I'm sensitive to - is this basically killing any progress I have? Or is it worth the mental comfort of being able to eat delicious things worth the (inevitable) bloat + sickness process?

Samantha Lauber

can't stop reading it as nut-ritionist so I should probably refrain

dudgy

How sustainable long term are low carb lifestyles?

John Doe

Talk about Underburg and other digestifs! How do they work? Can they be bad for you at all? What's your favorite?

Brad Bauer

Y'all are gonna talk about Sonic's hog for 45 minutes until y'all remember to get to the questions aren't you?

a.n.w

Is there any legitimate reason to not swallow gum, gastrointestinal health wise?

Gordon Walsh

How many times a week should I get fast food for lunch? I work from home and it’s hard to ignore the call of a long chicken sandwich from BK

Tom

No thanks.

Mike Lenahan

I have struggled to drop weight ever since high-school. My weight always hovered between 195 - 210 lbs (5'10 Male, 16 to 24 y/o). Since high-school though I always worked in jobs that were highly active. It hasn't been until this year where I have dropped my food consumption down to one meal per day that I've seen any noticeable change (now hovering around 185). In your opinion, is it the AMOUNT of food you consume or the TYPE/VARIETY of food that contributes best to achieving one's weight goals? For me personally it has been the amount, since the food I chose to eat haven't changed much.

Al

Are "grass fed" foods (i.e. butter or milk) nutritionally better for you than their counterparts?

Michael Raimondi

how much does meal timing (time of day or after workout/before bedtime) or frequency (fasting to 6 meals/day) matter?

David Powell

What are the pros/cons of prolonged fasting? Whenever I eat the kind of garbage that you guys eat daily, I usually follow it up with a 48-72 hour fast before resuming healthy eating.

Hassan Khalatbari

You wish.

Pög

None at this time, thank you!
