I love the FF8 soundtrack, I used to fall asleep to it all the time! Also the Serial Experiments Lain theme song is awesome!

2019-04-12 15:22:49 +0000 UTCWiger is 100% right about the Serial Experiments Lain theme. Maybe the best part of that show.

2019-04-09 19:26:56 +0000 UTCNothing like 4 adult men waxing bout video games (and their soundtracks) and reviewing soda pop! #firecontent #ipaidmoneyforthis

2019-04-09 18:04:38 +0000 UTCIf there was ever a topic I'm more passionate about than fast food, it's this one. I have some notes: -Reino's mistake is fairly forgivable. Having played FFVII on PC, he mistakenly thought that the Playstation arrangement was an orchestral version. I wish this was the case. I don't believe an actual orchestrated version of this song exists, although many fakes have been created using soundfonts. -To the opposite effect, Wiger played the PC MIDI version of Fisherman's Horizon, which is widely hated among enthusiasts of the game and actually more difficult to find audio of online than the Playstation version for that reason. This violation was particularly heinous due to the number of stellar performances of this song that have been played at various orchestral concerts. -Yusong was predictably insightful and reverential to the source material on this and it did not go unappreciated. I'm glad this episode happened and I look forward to Yusong's upcoming video game music podcast.

2019-04-09 15:19:58 +0000 UTCYusong with all the great picks from FFX! To Zanarkand is another fave of mine from that soundtrack. Please do a part two!

2019-04-09 15:05:05 +0000 UTCKingdom Hearts reference, how out of the blue. You guys do know part guest Haley Joel Osment voices the main character of Kingdom Hearts, right??? (Although doesn't appear in the game 358/2, as Yusong played)

2019-04-09 12:36:14 +0000 UTCThis podcast could have gone on for 4 hours and you still wouldn't be able to cover all of the great JRPG music out there. Thanks for the nostalgia Doughboys!

2019-04-09 12:18:04 +0000 UTCAerith and Tifa's themes are hands down my favorite songs in 7. (Potential Spoiler?) Aerith's theme fills me with a sense of loss every time I listen to it. Perfect music for the character. Tifa's makes me sad for some reason as well, possibly invoking a loss of innocence. Never really questioned it, but it's wonderfully depressing to me.
