These great and terrible umbral lords wield incredible power, including that to create life. This power does not vanish when they sleep, or even when they die, and during these times when their conscious minds are suppressed they can create horrors. The least of these are the umbrani, lesser devils of flesh and shadow that consider their creators to be their parents and masters.
