We don't know too much about this *former* captain - except that he fights with his fists (even though he has a giant sword on his back) - and he serves as Captain Armstrong's #2 on the ship, the Miss Demeanor. His personality is very eager, and occasionally steps on the toes of the Armstrong (both figuratively and literally)
