A Patreon fee adjustment formula!
Added 2017-12-07 15:10:35 +0000 UTCHey folks! A watchful patron just brought to my attention that instead of charging its service fees on my end, Patreon going to start charging them on yours. The fee will be 2.9% + $0.35 on every payment you make. I think this is a little silly, so if you'd like everything to stay the same for you, here's a little formula to adjust your pledge amount:
<NEWPLEDGE> = 0.9718*<OLDPLEDGE> - $0.34
Using this formula, the amount you're charged when I make a video should remain the exact same as it is now.
Cheers!

Eh, the Patreon folks have to make a living too, so I'm not going to worry too much about 2.9% either way. If that percentage starts creeping up over five, then I may re-think that position, but 2.9% sounds reasonable, and I'd rather that it come off my end than the artist's, as "starving artist" is still a thing.
