My Covenant - The Vicious Vampire Queen: Chapter 16

Selene

Ranking up to a viscount was a bittersweet experience because of what I lost. The necklace that I had received from my mother had shattered into pieces. I saw it get absorbed by the violent energy erupting out of my body.

Just like when I became a baron, I received a massive boost that greatly improved my overall strength. Something weird happened to domination, though; I was feeling thousands of people who were now connected to me.

There was no way those two adventurers turned that many people so quickly, and they were all over the continent. What in the world was going on? It was hard to place their exact location, but I knew the direction. Like Shuka, for example, was the sun, so I would probably notice her even if she was on the other side of the world.

I will have to look more into this in the future when I get more points into domination. For right now it’s not that important.

Both of us were currently relaxing on a massive couch that showed up in my new personal mansion. Shuka wanted to fawn over me, so I made myself comfortable leaning against her body on the spacious couch with many cushions. Her arms were wrapped around my midsection as we both stared at the other girl in the room.

“Hehehe” I couldn’t help but chuckle at the faces Gwen was currently making. She was extremely uncomfortable, but neither Shuka nor I tried to fix her current problem. It was something she was going to have to get used to now that she's joined our side.

The soldiers who were making their way up to the third floor were all forcibly thrown out along with any of the ladies who were still alive. I guess they got really lucky!

Looking at my new soul book, I couldn’t help but smile.

Name: Selene Voltaire

Race: Progenitor Vampire

Gender: Female

Age: 18

Blood Bond - ♥Shuka Voltaire♥

Ultimate Skill: Chaos Magic (LV4), Covenant (LV1)

Active Skills: Domination (LV2), Nail Claws (LV2), Shadow Step (LV3)

Passive Skills: Ultra Regeneration (MAX↑), Heightened Senses (LV4), Super Strength (LV4)

Rank: Viscount (1%)

SP: 5

This time I received five soul points instead of three, but at the very least all of my other skills did level up by one point. I wonder if I should save these five points to evolve the skill Ultra Regeneration.

My healing is already out-of-this-world powerful; what would another tier altogether add to that?

Covenant was the only new skill I received being at level one, and it was just what we needed. I feel like the skills we received are designed to meet our needs. For example, if my regeneration weren’t at such a high level when I first awakened, I probably wouldn’t be alive and kicking right now.

Bang!

We’re currently surrounded on all sides by an enormous amount of knights who desperately want into my new home. Sadly for them, I don’t allow solicitation, hehehe. The huge mansion is well furnished with whatever we would need, but that’s it.

I can only imagine how amazing it would be at level ten. I’m very tempted to just throw all five points into covenant because of how useful it truly is. Within the boundary of the walls that surround us, there is a strong barrier keeping out anyone who wishes to enter.

If I didn’t have a huge fight looming on the horizon, I would do that in a heartbeat. I’m thinking of using them all in Chaos magic for mine and Shuka’s sake. Her getting Bestial Wrath at level nine would be a sight to see.

Shuka's skill also has a passive effect. It’s very similar to the Hulk, where the more pissed off she becomes, the more her power increases. She’s the ultimate warrior of attrition because of that ability. Imagine an enemy that only gets stronger the more you fight them. Good luck to any future enemies of Shuka! “Hehehe”

As I chuckled to myself, both girls in the room put their attention on me. Gwen was still as red as a tomato, not used to being in the company of people who could care less about noble etiquette. Our shows of affection are making her squirm quite a bit in the chair across from us.

“Are you jealous, Gwen?” I said with a teasing tone.

“What???” She stammered out.

“I mean, you’ve never been in a relationship, right?” I said with a smirk. “To enjoy the loving touch of someone who truly desires you and swap spit with them on the daily to feed your sexual desires.”

Gwen is extremely amusing when it comes to any sexually explicit talk. She even grew very bashful at the idea of holding hands with someone. She’s so pure. Of course for me it’s only been a few days since our relationship started, but she doesn’t know that.

Shuka and I have bonded on such a high level that each of us just knows what the other wants before we even have to ask. It’s truly an amazing feeling to be connected with someone. Could we have been fated? Who knows? But, if someone did bring us together, thank you very much! It could be my mother looking out for me.

It’s really unfortunate that my only keepsake of hers had to shatter like that. On the other hand, in a way, my mother put a roof over our heads with the remains of the necklace being incorporated in the magic of this place.

“We... we shouldn’t be talking about that kind of stuff.” Gwen turned her head away, burying it into the pillow she had on her lap.

“Are you telling me you’ve never been interested in someone?” My face astonished.

“That’s not true!” She looked up at me with determination. “It… will never happen though.” Gwen said as her face went melancholic just like that.

“Your facial expression went from one hundred to zero in the matter of a few seconds.” I’m sure I know the reason why she did that. “So how old is your marriage prospect that I’m sure your father is trying to push onto you? This move to get a prince was doomed from the start, you know that, right?” I watch on as Gwen’s face contorts.

She completely shut down at my words, unable to think of something to say. How easy is it to read noble society? They do everything by the book based on how much of an asshole the father is or if the stepmother is a bitch.

“Now that you’re fully healed, what’s next?” I asked with curiosity. “Would you like to go kill your father?”

Gwen’s face instantly turned grim. As if she’s never even contemplated the idea, even though she was tortured for an unknown amount of time, she still won’t take revenge?

“But you shouldn’t kill.” Gwen said weakly.

“Really… But I just did it many times over. Do you think I’m evil?” My body was enveloped in Shuka’s tight embrace at my words as if to console me from thinking any negative thoughts. Of course, I wouldn’t be having any of those. I lost the capacity to feel sorry for my enemies when I was being cut up alive for so many years.

“Umm… no…” She said softly.

“Did you enjoy all the pain your family put you through? Do you want a happily ever after with them? That’s all fantasy, Gwen; it will never happen.” A reality check for this girl is very much needed. “In the future I will take your father’s head and throw it at your feet."

“Huh?” She exclaimed in horror.

“Your way too soft, Gwen, and now with this amazing mansion I just received, I will be taking over this city. So any noble who tries to overthrow my newfound rule will be met with extreme violence.” I felt the annoyance coming from behind me as Shuka started to give off a crackling sound.

Laying back into the loving embrace of my other half, I sit there in anticipation of what Shuka was about to do. Gwen’s body is now very resilient, having a similar healing factor to my own. I'm sure it will be fine.

Zzzzzzz ZAP

Shuka landed a direct hit with her lightning to the top of Gwen’s head, shocking her silly for a decent amount of time. After releasing some of her resentment at the girl, Shuka stops her attack and continues to hug me tightly.

Gwen's skin had darkened, and her eyeballs glowed for a while as her hair was standing up with smoke rising into the air from all of her visible orifices. She fell over in the chair motionless for a few seconds before she jumped out of her seat in a panic.

“What the hell?” Gwen, for the first time, showing a little backbone, but she chose the wrong target.

Zzzzzzz Zap

Shuka had once again fried Gwen as she fell to the ground. “Hehehe, you’re such a kind girl, Shuka. Trying to teach her the lesson she very much needs to learn.” It was obvious, though; she was just very annoyed with the girl and wanted her to suffer a bit.

“She’s a moron who would willingly take a brutal beating if it means they will accept her.” Shuka said with scorn.

“Yes, it’s rather pathetic. But we should do our best to teach her even if it takes a while.”

The both of us giggle evilly to each other as we see Gwen’s eyes open up once again as she stares at us with a conflicted expression.

As her body was healing all the damage caused by Shuka, she got up and sat back down on the chair, saying nothing. Her clothes were now a mess, burned all over, and let’s not even talk about the absolute disaster that was now her hair.

“Gwen, we're trying to put you on the right path. It’s up to you how long you want to take the wrong one.”

She gave us this weird look before she said, “Alright.”

“Are you up for some exercise, Shuka?” I asked as I put my hands on her knees and jumped up to a standing position, holding out my hand to her.

“Sounds like fun.” Shuka gave a vicious grin with her sharp fangs and cute appearance. She grabbed my hand, and I yanked her up.

“Let’s go show the people of this city what kind of existence now controls it. Gwen, why don’t you watch from the safety of the barrier and understand what kind of force you now serve? Hopefully coming to your senses and learning to have a bit of a backbone.” I patted her on the head as we walked by hand in hand. We exited the front door of the mansion to our adoring fans in silver armor with rough voices.

[Hurry, Selene, add a few points into Covenant.] A voice I had heard recently sounded within my head.

As I was trying to figure out whom that familiar voice belonged to, spider-like cracks started appearing all over the translucent sheen barrier that protected our newly built home. It was probably only a matter of a few seconds before it shattered altogether and we would get swarmed.

Without thinking, I threw three points into the covenant and hoped it would be enough. We needed some kind of safe zone if we were going to take on the overwhelming force currently waiting for a chance to rip us apart.

Hmmmmmm

A reverberating sound resounded throughout the area as the barrier became solid once again. Looking back at the mansion, it became even more appealing with multiple upgrades to the aesthetics. I can only imagine what kind of cool new upgrade was brought into the interior.

[Great job; it’s so amazing to see you once again.] The sad but also happy voice once again spoke in my head. I looked over at Shuka, who also seemed to have heard it.

There was only one person I could think of who would speak to me in such a way. It hasn’t even been that long since I heard her voice for the first time. To think she would come back into my life in such a way.

“Mother?” I said with doubt, but also hopeful.
