The Vampire Queen - How I Became The Worlds Last Boss: Chapter 13

Celestia

Goddess Noah starts to chant as the room begins filling up with millions of light particles. They were absolutely everywhere I looked, and they kept multiplying. That’s when everything stops, as if time itself had frozen over. I look around in awe at the spectacle. After about five seconds, everything starts moving once again, all in my direction.

Every single speck of light within the room enters my body as everything around me falls into complete darkness. My insides were currently in a state of panic as I felt pressure from something circulating at high speeds. A warm sensation was completely covering my whole body. It wasn’t uncomfortable, but at the same time, it didn’t feel great either. But what I did feel was that my power was once again rising to a new level of outrageousness.

Just how powerful am I going to become? The power I used to open the door earlier feels like a drop in the bucket compared to right now. Was this the power she was talking about that could rival a god? Just who was I supposed to fight in this world where I would need this much power? Not that I’m really complaining; my favorite stories always had overpowered protagonists. It just got me a little worried about what kind of enemies will come looking for trouble in the future.

Now I get to experience what it’s truly like to have no equal, at least in this current world. My only fear is these other gods and goddesses she was hinting at before and the heroes from another world that humans will try to summon. Could they summon someone on par with my power?

Once I felt the sensation completely settle down, a pulse was instantly sent out in all directions. It feels like my magic is much easier to control than before. Creating a ball of destruction, like earlier, was as easy as snapping my fingers. I could also disperse it with a thought. Now I have to figure out how to use this new power of creation.

“You’re all set, Celestia Voltaire. I hope to see you in the future. Also, the next time you enter the water, it will be the real deal with the cradle activated, so do your best.”

“How do I use the cradle?” I ask hurriedly before the goddess leaves.

“Don’t worry your pretty little head. The next time you enter, everything will be understood. Just remember one thing: always follow your heart, and everything will be fine no matter the situation.” With that, Goddess Noah was gone.

I started hearing the sound of water falling in a certain direction. That must be the entrance to this place and the exit for me to get out of here. Once again, walking through the waterfall, I exit the room. I first saw Rhea, who was beaming from ear to ear. My heart pounded at such a beautiful sight, and I couldn't wait to run into her arms.

(3rd POV)

Meanwhile, in the Trothia Kingdom...

King Clement looks down from his high perch at two certain individuals. One is the father of Rhea, Viscount Caldworth. The other is Celestia’s father, Marquis Voltaire. Both are currently having their faces pushed into the ground by soldiers, forcing them to show their sincerity to the King.

Why are they being forced to show respect to their own kingdom's king? That’s very easy to answer; it’s because both first-born males of each family are currently lying headless in front of them. They were both forced to watch as an executioner decapitated both heirs of each family for retribution. Both of them were extremely lucky that the whole family wasn’t sentenced to death immediately, despite the urging of every noble within the kingdom.

“Marquis Voltaire is guilty of raising the villain who will eventually try to kill us all. He reported his daughter to the authorities too late. With that being said, he will be stripped of his current title as Marquis and demoted to baron.” A High Court official bellowed in the throne room.

The now-Baron Voltaire couldn’t help but start to scream in indignation, feeling he had been wronged. As soon as Celestia showed herself on the morning of the first day at the academy, they reported the strangeness of her appearance. The mistress of the house wants nothing more than to drive her out, and she saw this as the perfect opportunity. Little did they know just how truly severe the consequences would become for their involvement in raising Celestia.

“Your Majesty… I don’t understand! As soon as that girl showed any kind of sign of being something evil, we reported it! How could you do that to my firstborn?” Baron Voltaire lifted his head off the ground with a sharp glare at the king. “How could we have known she was the ultimate enemy of mankind? It’s not my fault that she only showed any signs of it until very recently.

The King had a very icy feel, as if he were burning a hole through the baron's figure with the soldier still forcing him into the ground. It’s true that the Voltaire family has been beneficial to the kingdom for a very long time. But this is a completely separate issue. Their lucky, I still allowed them to remain nobles and didn't just strip them of everything and let them drop down to commoners.

“Tell me this, Baron Voltaire, how did you treat your daughter?” The King, already knowing the answer after interrogating all the servants of the household, waits for a response.

“I… ah…” At this time, the baron knew he was probably screwed and had some kind of idea what the king was about to say.

“The daughter you treated so poorly is now in possession of enough power to destroy us all. How do you think she feels about this kingdom? Her own family treats her as if she’s trash. DO YOU THINK SHE WOULD LOOK FONDLY ON ANY OF US?” The king roars. “You’re a fool and missed out on an opportunity for advancement. Imagine you gained her trust and treated her like a queen. Right now, you would have been in possession of the most powerful weapon in the world. But, No!!! You had to treat her with contempt, fool!!!”

Even though the King had no intention of actually trusting the girl named Celestia Voltaire, he didn’t even get a chance to harness her power. She could have been the greatest deterrent against any other threat to our kingdom in the future. We could have figured out some type of mental manipulation to get her fully under our control and force her to do my bidding. It was such a perfect opportunity. But because of this idiot, it’s all up in smoke, just like that.

For generations, every king’s most guarded secret has been about the truth of this world and the actual story behind the demon lord's existence. Many have hypothesized that it is possible to bring that entity under our control. They aren’t born evil, but most of the time; the world turns them that way. She was a very useful tool for this kingdom and a powerful weapon to use for my benefit. DAMN IT!

Those damn useless bastards at the magic academy! They have one job to do, and when it came to the real deal, they let her slip right through their fingers! Anyone under the magic power level of one thousand is pretty much the same type of student. There isn’t a real big difference when it comes to which class they will actually attend. The whole point of that test was to find people like Celestia Voltaire!

Catching them as soon as possible is paramount, so indoctrination becomes much easier. But she was already too tainted by that damn family. Over the last few centuries, there have been recorded cases of individuals far exceeding one thousand, but never to this degree. The crystal-testing orb couldn’t even handle the height of her power and shattered. If we can’t control them, they must be killed; that’s the only reason both families are still alive.

To my annoyance, we have yet another daughter, who was also treated poorly by her family and most likely joined forces with Celestia. Along with the investigation into the household of Voltaire, Caldworth was also questioned.

Let’s find out just how much they want to live and if they can somehow rectify their current relationship with their daughter’s. In the unlikely event they get Celestia to return, he will be very grateful and promote both household. It’s all up to them if they want to change their current fate. At the same time, we need to get as many powerful mages together as possible before the summoning. A lot of sacrifices will be needed that contain high magic power.

King Clement has yet to actually summon someone from another world, but he has everything he needs in the king's private chambers. There is a black magic spell that brings people over to our world who are extremely gifted in combat. The most appealing aspect of this spell is that it instantly puts them into a master-and-servant contract with the caster. For obvious reasons, the king must be the one performing the summoning.

“Alright, I’ve decided, Baron Voltaire and Viscount Caldworth. If you agree to accomplish an important mission, I will allow both of you to promote your status and reclaim your honor. We don’t currently know why Rhea followed Celestia, and there is no proof that it was willingly or by force. Sources say Rhea was left unconscious as they escaped, so no punishment beyond what has already happened will be given.” The king commands.

Both men get pulled up to their feet with a motion by the King to the soldiers. He had to show them a little sincerity if he was going to get their full cooperation. Looking both of them in the face solemnly, the king begins to speak.

“Baron Voltaire, you will send your daughter and second son to find Celestia and bring her back. If you succeed, all will be forgiven. You will stay here as a hostage, and if they aren’t back within a month, it’s the guillotine for you.” All the people in the throne room gasped at the king's announcement. To actually give them a chance to regain their honor was usually a myth in high society. He led the country as a tyrant and never gave second chances.

“WHAT?” Baron Voltaire shouts, completely dumbfounded by the king's intentions.

“Shut your mouth. Voltaire, if you deny this chance, all your family will die today. I heard Celestia has the most grievances with Caroline from our investigation. Force her to lower herself to Celestia and bring her back. Send the second son, who is a strong swordsman, to keep his sister safe and hopefully make it there in one piece.” The baron just sighs at the situation, his drooping shoulders completely dejected to his fate.

“Of course, your Majesty...” He bows to the king, not really having any chance to deny such a request.

“Viscount Caldworth will also join this mission and secure his daughter. There’s a high possibility that she either joined her or was controlled by Celestia. So maybe you can bring your daughter back to her senses. Because this mission is so high-profile and we have yet to know your daughter's true intentions, your wife shall be held here with Baron Voltaire. She will receive the same treatment if you aren’t back in a month.”

“But…” The king waves his hand wildly to shut down any kind of opposition to his decision.

“Viscount, I’ve heard your house is currently in massive debt to the Crown Bank. If you’re successful in your mission, I will wipe the debt clean. If Celestia has some kind of attachment to Rhea, having her will be a great source of power to control her. So, don’t let me down.” With that, the king stood up and left the throne room.

Viscount Caldworth, with the same expression of dejection as Baron Voltaire, just bows, accepting the king's will. He looks over at Baron Voltaire, who looks completely dumbstruck at what just happened. He couldn’t help but curse Rhea in every possible way. That stupid child really got this family into something outrageous.

“Baron Voltaire, will you be sending your standing army along with your daughter and son?” Viscount Caldworth desperately wanted more men for this mission. There was no telling what they would encounter traveling so deep into enemy territory.

“Ha, whatever, it's not like it even matters. There’s no way Caroline will be able to convince Celestia to come back to us. It’s a suicide mission, and my life will end in a month’s time, guaranteed.” Baron sighs.

“What are you talking about?” Viscount said in worry.

“Caroline is much too proud for something like this, and she hates Celestia to her core. Getting her to actually apologize would be a massive task. I also allowed her to be a punching bag for Caroline without getting into the middle of it. I’m sure Celestia’s resentment towards her family is very high.” The baron has a pitying look as he stares intently at the Viscount.

“Shouldn’t we just run then? What can they even do if we just bail and go to another kingdom?" Caldworth thought he had some kind of escape plan, but little did he know it would never come to fruition.

“That’s very unlikely because the King will most likely send royal guards along with you. If you try to run, they will kill you on the spot. Anyway, good luck dealing with my two daughters, and I hope for good news.” Baron Voltaire completely resigned himself to his fate as he took his leave of the throne room, accompanied by royal armed guards. They were taking him to his new home for the next month.

Viscount Caldworth took a long look at the throne while pondering. Damn these stupid daughters! Women only cause trouble; why won’t they just listen? Their only role is to take care of the house and spread their legs—nothing more! He knew this was going to be a very bad trip and possibly the end of his life.
