ASMR * ✧･ﾟnew SR3D, first impressions? with comparison to my old one

I wanted to make a quick video with my new SR3D before I made a proper good video with it.

I have some mixed opinions, maybe I’m being a little overdramatic about the differences between the two microphones. I think I felt this way because I spent so much money expecting an in-tact version of what I already had, and receiving the new microphone, I was really shocked by all of the differences. I feel like the old SR3D is very effortlessly tingly, I just love touching the microphone, the sounds when I go into the ears, I love absolutely EVERYTHING about it, I find it hard to make a bad sound with the SR 3D XLR, and I get very sleepy recording with it. The audio on this new one sounds sharp, but all of the materials have changed, I’m not sure if the actual microphones changed too, but it really feels like a different microphone. The ears don’t go as far out, are more rigid, thick and firmly attached, more similar to the 3Dio, they don’t bend as much and don’t have a ‘sticky’ touch like the old SR3D ears do. I love the old SR3D because they really sound like real ears to me. Furthermore, the microphones inside the ears have this hard mesh sort of covering, it’s more similar to the metal covering that’s on my yeti, whereas the old SR3D has this sort of felt-like material protecting the microphones. The old SR3D was also far heavier, I believe it was made with some sort of metal, it had an expensive feel to it, whereas the new one is plastic. Maybe I am overreacting a little bit, but I just feel a bit sad about the differences as the original truly is my favourite microphone, and I suppose I’m a bit angry at myself for not taking better care of it. I just assumed with the success of the microphones, they would not change a thing about it, because the sound is so unique to SR3D as a brand. I can’t return it, so I’m going have have to make do.
