I wanted to give her a vastly different hairstyle than her usual look. Along with that, I liked the idea that she wasn't some kid genius, or was uninterested in typical kid-centric stuff. She had a very normal childhood and liked typical kid stuff. In other words: she's fairly normal outside of the incredibly bizarre direction she took with her career choice. Don't play gameboy in trees, kids! It's dangerous!
