What should be done with the Riverlands and the Westerlands?
Added 2025-11-02 07:43:12 +0000 UTCHarry is poised to invade Lannisport and, once again, is in a position to bring down Casterly Rock. This time, Tyrion Lannister is the lord of Casterly Rock, not Tywin.
At the same time, the Riverlands and the Westerlands have pretty much rebelled against the Iron Throne's authority. But Stannis can no longer impose his authority in those two kingdoms as Aegon, backed by Dorne, is attacking him from the south, and Daenerys, backed by Euron Greyjoy, is attacking from the east. The Vale has isolated itself after Jon Arryn's death, and the Reach is divided on who to support.

I feel those voting for total annexation of the other regions are only looking at this from a Powerful!North fan point of view and not considering the previously established character arcs and decision making that led up to this point. It makes more sense to politically dominate these regions but leave them as independent kingdoms, or vassalize them at the absolute most, and maintaining strong borders to prevent invasion by the South. I know it's not 1 to 1 but some of yall need to look to real world history, or play a 4x strategy game at least if you're looking for ideas about creating somewhat realistic nations and how they would interact.

Really what I believed you're setting up is a bunch of independent kingdoms that all owe the north. Maybe there's even a play with Hoster being crowned King and Harry dragging lysa and the Vale into a middle kingdom of rivers and mountains, ??he could even rebuild Harrenhal as the royal seat.
