Summary: A soul from Earth is reborn in the Naruto-verse with a system that granted him one cosmic roll as a starting perk. He landed the Almighty Eyes of Yhwach from Bleach, granting him the powers of the Quincy Emperor. Unfortunately, the enormous potential of the Almighty fried his system, forcing it into a power-saving mode. Will the Almighty Eyes alone be enough for a newborn to survive in the cutthroat world of Shinobi and the disaster that was the Third Shinobi World War? Will he be able to change the fate of the Shinobi with the powers of a Quincy for the better or worse? Let’s find out.
Intro
The afternoon sun hung lazily above the Land of Fire, its golden rays spilling across the rooftops of Konoha. High above it all, seated on the weathered stone of the Hokage Monument, Tenrai Shirakawa let his gaze drift across the village sprawled beneath him.
His name, Tenrai, meant heavenly arrival. It was both a blessing and a burden. Ever since he had first unlocked his chakra in the academy’s training fields—fierce, pure, and tinged with an otherworldly edge—whispers had followed him. Some called him a genius, while others said he was lucky to be blessed with a dense chakra reserve.
Tenrai had learned to ignore them over the years. He never hid his basic capabilities and natural skill with chakra in the academy. Though he was not the rookie of the year, he was still the second-best and had advanced a couple of years ahead of his peers.
The carved faces of the Hokage loomed in solemn silence beside him, their eyes fixed forever on the future. The breeze here was different — cooler, carrying the mingled scents of blooming plum trees planted in the time of the First Hokage, and the faint smoke of forge fires from the weapons district.
Tenrai closed his eyes for a moment, letting the wind comb through his dark hair, the faint whisper of leaves sounding like an old lullaby.
From up here, Konoha looked… peaceful. Children darted between narrow streets, chasing a rolling ball; merchants called out from their stalls, bargaining with stubborn customers; shinobi leapt from rooftop to rooftop, their flak jackets catching the light. It was a living, breathing thing — the village — and Tenrai felt the steady pulse of it beneath his skin.
Tenrai knew this peace was nothing but an illusion more than anyone else. Channelling chakra into his eyes, his normal eye morphed into something else. His eyes now split into three irises and pupils scanned the village visible in the light, as well as the one invisible lurking behind the shadows, using the telescopic vision granted by these eyes. He saw the village in its true form. These eyes of his were granted to him by the gamer system as an initial reward. After which, the system went into a cooldown period and was never heard of again, no matter how many times he tried.
Still, he couldn’t complain much. The system had granted him one of the best leg-ups he could’ve ever asked for. His eyes were, after all, far beyond in capabilities compared to the Sharingan or the Byakugan. The system, which activated at the moment before his birth, had offered him a roll-a cosmic roll in its own terms. That roll landed him a doujutsu, but the system went into a cool-down period after landing the doujutsu, and he had not heard from the system ever since.
Most of what he learned about his doujutsu came from experimentation and the memories of his past life.
He could see chakra signatures surrounding the village, standing as watchful guardians to protect the peace within. He could measure their chakra capacity and see into the unique properties of their chakra if he focused hard and long enough.
The shinobi of Konoha maintain this illusion of peace, and they were his comrades.
The truth was that war was raging outside the safety of the village. The lifeblood of Konoha's shinobi sustained the peace within and beyond the borders of the Land of Fire.
The only question was which kind of war was going on. Was it the silent war where ninjas kill, loot, burn and destroy other people and call it a mission or the one where ninjas of different villages kill each other in the name of their village, honour and vengeance?
In either case, it was war in his eyes.
Despite the deceptive peace, as he stared at the village from this vantage point, he felt like it was worth protecting. There are far too many people enjoying some form of peace, even if it was born out of ignorance and in reality was just an illusion of peace.
His eyes lingered on the Naka River, its surface catching the sunlight and mirroring the blue sky above. He remembered wading in that river as a boy, training his chakra control by balancing on its surface until his legs trembled. Massive trees stood as his silent witnesses as he trained day and night, honing his skills. The same silence that had taught Tenrai to rely on his own resolve and trust in his ability, no matter the situation. The gamer system had done its part, and the rest was in his own hands.
He dismissed the Zennogan by cutting off the chakra to his eyes.
A crow cawed somewhere above, circling the village before vanishing into the horizon. Tenrai followed the crow as it circled above, his thoughts drifting. A shadow shifted beside him. He didn’t turn immediately — he had already sensed the chakra approaching.
“You always pick the highest places,” came a familiar voice.
“Observing clouds and studying their shapes is a subtle art requiring one's utmost concentration and patience.” Tenrai said breezily with a smile.
Tenrai smirked faintly and glanced over his shoulder. Standing there, hands in pockets, was his friend Asuma Sarutobi — eyes warm but sharp as ever.
A memory came forth in his mind as he looked into the grinning face of his teammate.
Author's Note:
I was offered an idea of a gamer Naruto story, but I made some tweaks to the original request to fit a better narrative. The original idea was to have the story set in Naruto's timeline. I pushed it back to the Third Shinobi War since the war will provide a better opportunity for the MC to naturally develop his Quincy powers under pressure. The pairing I have in mind is MC x Kurenai Yuhi. But I'm open to suggestions. As already mentioned, the Gamer System is in a cooldown state, but it'll return just as the Third Shinobi War begins.
Also, the current frame of the story is a test dose. I'm open to further changes. So, any suggestion is welcome. I'm hoping to start the story after finishing Dragonlord, which I plan to conclude within the next 30-40 chapters.
Comments
There are many enemies to consider. Madara is one, but I think the closest is Danzo. As soon as he sees someone like that, he'll try anything. It's a promising story.
