The fate of Cedric Diggory

In TLC(The Lion Cub), Cedric has failed to procure the Golden Egg in the First Task as Harry never told him about the Dragon. While Harry's intention is to keep Cedric out if harm's way, the unintended consequence is that they never became friends.
As such, Cedric's fate is in the wind.
