Well, this is definitely one way to go <3
So, what I'm thinking is to combine this kind of technique with 3D work in order to enhance details and such. Unfortunately, soft body simulations are quite expensive and the tooling I have is no good at dealing with volumes. These little animations are just a few seconds long. I'm not going to transition away from 3D work by any means! But this could be another tool/technique in the tool box.
