Chapter 63: What an Odd Team-Up

The original party, led by Nighteye and Erasure, ran down the empty halls of the base, following the map that Nighteye had created that would take them where Eri had been held; as with the assault in full swing, they all knew Overhaul would have surely had her moved and brought to him so he could make his escape.

Kirishima and Uraraka kept pace, but they were worried as earlier, the very tunnels around them seemed to shift and bend because of one of the yakuza, Irinaka’s quirk. Based on their reports, they knew that he shouldn't have been capable of such a thing, but considering this was the same group linked to the trigger trade, Fat Gum had to be right on the money about him using some to boast his power. However, it did nothing to slow Lemillion down, who could phase through whatever obstacle could stay in his way. Still, without radio contact, they couldn't even tell where he was.

Irinaka certainly inconvenienced them as he split them from most of their police, leaving just the detective and a couple others. When he dumped them before 3 other Yakuza, they hadn’t been so quick to surrender like the rest, loudly proclaiming their loyalty to Overhaul, so they had to leave Suneater to handle them.

Uraraka and Kirishima wanted to believe that their sempai could handle this. He was a third year after all, a member of the Big 3 even, the same as Lemillion, but… "Oh man, I'm really worried about him," Kirishima spoke, leaving Fat Gum to just deadpan.

‘Great, not even the 1st years think he can do this. Guess one moment of confidence doesn't matter when they haven't seen what he can do when he's not talking himself down.' Fat Gum sighed as he had heard through his work studies student how his friend, Mirio, had demonstrated his own power against class A, managing to defeat all of them with single blows and without taking so much as a scratch.

Hado also hadn't done much, at least, not something Amajiki told him, but he guessed her confident and bubbly persona helped convince people that she was the real deal, still-

"Listen, you left a comrade to guard your back, and if you're a real man, you'll trust him!" Fat Gum yelled at the two, with the effect being immediate with Red Riot.

“Yeah, he’ll handle it, no problem!” Uraraka looked at her classmate and friend in surprise and a little envy.

"There's being confident about your friends, and then there's…well, at least he's got two solid supporters." People called her the bubbly one, yet all it took was that for Kirishima's doubts to fade.

"Fat's right; all we can do is have faith in him! We can't waste a second doubting him or ourselves!" Red Riot continued, yelling to try and instill greater confidence in them.

‘Kid needs to calm down.’ Lock Rock thought but kept to himself.

“Strange, Irinaka hasn't been trying to slow us down," Eraser stated, as they hadn't felt or noticed any disturbances since they left Suneater to handle those 3 other Yakuza.

Uraraka had noticed it, too, but she didn't see it as a boon. “Is it because he’s leading us into a trap?” Who knew what the loyalists would do with the yakuza facing a mass rout? Irinaka seemed pretty high up the chain, so he still had to work to undermine them.

"Maybe, but another reason could be that he hasn't actually merged with the entire structure but moved around through it. He could be focused on slowing down the rest of the police and any heroes trying to enter." Eraser replied though he kept it down in case someone was listening to them closely.

Fat Gum and Lock Rock nodded at that, as it made sense as boosted or not, there were still limits to the power a quirk could do. It wasn't as if Eraser used Trigger; his quirk would turn into an area of effect. “Hey, if there’s a limit to how much of the building he can keep tabs on, I’m all for it, but doesn’t that mean we can’t expect any help from the rest?” Lock Rock asked, as with them having been split like this, who knew which group Irinaka was working on? he didn't have much faith in the cops to handle him like they could.

Eraser nodded. "Of that, I have no doubt. Even if he was stopped right now, it'll take time for them to find us, and he could have just as easily blocked off paths, so they'll need time to break through them.” That said, there still was something they could exploit. "Still, that does give us an opening. If he has to move around the place, he needs to pop out an eye or ear to see and hear what he's doing. All I need is to get a look, just one, and he's done."

With the yakuza in question, he wasn't impeding any group. He had taken a break from working on the stupid cops to check in on the 3 he left to slow down those heroes.

The already short-tempered man felt his blood boiling as he formed his eye and saw that the room was ruined, and all 3 were defeated with just one unconscious hero present. 'They only managed to stop one? Just the one?! Garbage or not, they were supposed to be strong! With all the rest as useless as dirt, these 8 Bullets should prove their worth to master Overhaul now more than ever!’

They could have at least taken out 3 of those stupid heroes; they even had ideal quirks for it, so why didn't he see more? Wait, of course, it was their quirks, wasn't it? Not the garbage but the quirks of the heroes, or one in particular. Someone whose Overhaul's eye has been on for a while now.

He couldn’t leave this to chance; he would need to deal with it and do it fast!

Line Break

Up on the surface, the pros worked to try and bust their way into the tunnels, as moments after Night Eye's team had ventured in, they had shifted like wet clay, squishing, and contracting until they were functionally unpassable.

The good news was that with the surprise coup, much of their forces could be redeployed to reinforce the Ryukyu agency against the behemoth they were fighting and into the building. "I can't believe that you would all just turn like that; it seems crazy to me," Bubble Girl commented.

The man she was speaking to was the same one who had led them to the now blocked-off passage. “Maybe to an outsider, but for us true members, it was a long time coming.” He seemed calm for a man who had been cuffed; in fact, when she had, the police had announced that they'd be arrested pending an investigation into their involvement in Overhaul's crimes. Still, they hadn't fought them on it.

“Okay, but if you didn’t like Overhaul and wanted him gone, why didn’t you rebel earlier?” she asked, as this didn't make sense to her.

One of the others, a man with a bald head and slight heteromorphic features, which made his scalp yellow, laughed at the question. "Because Overhaul would have just killed all of us without a thought and left just those too stupid or too scared to rebel against him. All hopes of the Shie Hassaikai ever returning to what it once was would die with us."

“That’s quite presumptuous to say, wouldn’t you agree?” Centipeder stated, standing to the side as the others worked to dig their way into the compound proper.

"It's the truth. The boss's wife passed away 20 years ago, and his daughter wanted nothing to do with the family business, so he let her leave. Her kid…well, she's young, too young, and in Overhaul's 'care.'" One muttered that last part.

“A kid-you don’t mean, Eri, do you?” Bubble Girl asked, as they had no clue who she was, only that she existed thanks to Lemillion, Uravity, and Sir seeing her. But for her to be the granddaughter to the boss, the same one who had just returned…

The first man nodded. "I know the name, but good luck finding someone who knows what she looks like. Overhaul was put in charge of her when she first came here after some accident. I don't know the details, but after a while, he kept her all to himself to do God knows what."

“Then you should have reported it! We could have arrived earlier if you filed a child abuse claim!”  Bubble Girl yelled, furious that they had known about this, and kept quiet. She wasn't the only one as the rest of the pros and cops not otherwise busy were glaring at the 3 yakuza, but it hardly bothered them.

One of them snorted. "As we could, she's not in your system; the boss's daughter had a traditional birth out of a hospital. She has no records, and Overhaul could claim we were lying since none of us have kids either."

“Would you heroes have even listened?” Another challenge is shooting a nasty look back at them. "It's the truth. You heroes rarely listen when we try to report villains to you. You just see us criminals trying to get rid of competition."

“Even so, if you at least made an attempt…” Bubble Girl's ire didn't fade. She wouldn't lie and say some heroes and police didn't take criminals reporting on each other seriously, especially yakuza. However, if they had at least filed a complaint, it would have helped them build their case. They could have even moved in earlier.

"Forget about it; what's done is done." The man grunted, looking to the side. “You just focus on handling the crazies and villains that Overhaul brought in; it'll buy us time to handle things."

“How odd, for all your loathing of Chisaki, you seem confident that we can't handle him," Centipeder noted, keeping his cool despite the conversation.

The three yakuza looked at each other, having a short silent talk between them before one looked back at them. “Not you, but I’m willing to bet my life that we have someone in the wings who can finally give Overhaul what he’s had coming for a long time. It’s the same pyromaniac who managed to wake up the boss after Overhaul put him in a coma.”

“Who?” Centipeder felt something in his gut at that description.

All three of the yakuza smiled, as they just regretted that they couldn't see it for themselves. “Ever heard of the Thunder?” But they played their roles in setting things up.

Line Break

With the forward group, they had no time to react. One moment, there was nothing, but even a twitch in the walls-the next, a hole formed in one side, and from the other wall, a messy blob of concreate formed, aimed right for one of them. “Eraser!” Red Riot yelled as Eraser was caught between a rock and a cliff.

'He wants to knock me out of the fight before I can look at him!' Eraser realized in the moment. Did it mean these people knew about him? It had to be; it also meant that the Irinaka knew about his quirk's sight requirement.

‘If those idiots can’t handle him, then I will!’ Irinaka moved as fast as he could, but he wasn’t fast enough as Fat Gum shoved Eraser out of the way, taking his place.

‘No!’ Eraser cursed, looking into Fat’s eyes and seeing that the man didn’t regret it.

‘If we don’t stop this guy, then Tamaki would have stayed behind for nothing!' Fat didn't speak, but he conveyed his intentions all the same. "Do your thing, Eraser!" He couldn't say more before he was shoved through the hole, which closed up nearly as fast as it had formed.

“Be careful, Fat!” Eraser called out, not knowing what lay for his friend on the other side.

“Wait, where’d Red Riot go?” Lock Rock called out, the rest realizing with dread that they were down not one but two people. But that was where he could have…

“Don’t tell me…” Uravity started, as there was only one way he could have vanished so fast, and it was the same way Eraser had nearly been taken.

Nighteye wasn't happy about this but had to keep them focused. "There's nothing we can do for him now. He's with Fat Gum, so we can trust he had someone to watch his back. I dare he's doing the same, so their odds of joining us again are even greater than Suneater’s.”

Turning, he continued. “Let’s keep moving!” The rest spared a thought for a moment but followed all the same. Uravity wanted to help her friend, but just as he could put his faith in Suneater, she would put her faith in Red Riot. She would just need to focus on rescuing Eri.

Line Break

Pyre hummed a little song, his eyes closed with a small smile. He had been told to keep with Nemoto Shin and Sakaki Deidoro, or as Toga nicknamed them, Mr. Spoiler and the Sad Drunk. Not the most creative names, but Pyre supposed they fit them well enough.

He would have been with the others, but perhaps they wished to spread them out, with the coup weakening Overhaul's numbers, or perhaps because they still didn't trust them. Either way, when Mimic came around and called for reinforcements, Nemoto insisted Pyre remain with them.

'Well, if it's the latter, it was the right move. Shame it came too late to make any difference.' Pyre smiled even wider, which was noticed by Sakaki.

“Hey, something funny, brat?” He asked, already holding a bottle of wine, Pyre smiling even as his nose was assaulted by the putrid stench of cheap booze.

"Not so much funny as something to be happy about. With this little surprise, I finally do something fun around her. Overhaul is so stiff and boring." Pyre replied, going back to humming.

Koharu caught Nemoto glaring at him, and while his plague mask covered his entire face, she could taste his aggression at how casually her human insulted Overhaul. "Yes, we're already aware of your ignorance, pyromaniac. But you aren't here to think or talk, just act." He firmly told him.

Pyre thought it cute that he thought he could even attempt to order him around, but since he was talking about action…

Pyre opened his eyes but kept his gaze down the path where they'd been told one of the heroes would eventually appear. "I'm being serious. Compared to the old man, Chisaki's got nothing on him." Nemoto only needed a moment to understand the meaning of those words, and when he did, it hit him like a ton of bricks.

“After all,” Pyre still didn’t turn to him, though Koharu did, and he focused on that damned snake’s eyes that seemed to mock him. “I would know that very well.”

“What do did you?!” Nemoto immediately drew his gun and aimed it at the back of Pyre's head, using his quirk to make sure the brat couldn't lie to him.

Turning, Pyre’s smile was as welcoming as an inferno, and he happily gave up the answers. “I used my quirk to heal the true leader of your group to ensure Overhaul would have nowhere to go,” He couldn’t say more as he was hit with both an extreme drunken dizziness and a bullet struck him dead center of his forehead, throwing his head back.

"You unsightly imp, you would dare disrespect master Overhaul like this? You started this damned uprising? Well then, you can die for it; you don't deserve to live to see the world master Overhaul envisions!"

As the man yelled, he kept firing. Shot after shot till he spent the entire magazine, each bullet tore through Pyre's chest and gut even as he fell over, blood freely flowing from all the many wounds across his body. His snake had retreated beneath his corpse, but that won't save it from Nemoto, who approached, reloading his gun.

A little tipsy now, Sakaki turned to Nemoto. "If the kid," the man paused for a moment because of a hiccup. "Was the culprit? Doesn't that mean those other two also were in on it?"

Coming to stand over Pyre's corpse, the man scoffed at the glassed-over look in the body's eyes. "We'll deal with them after this one. You head back and inform Master Overhaul that I found our problem."

"Found is right," Those eyes lit up with life once more, Pyre's gaze shifting from nothing to locking onto him, that damned smile reforming. "After all, you certainly didn't figure it out alone."

"What the hell, you killed him!" Sakaki yelled, using his quirk again, but while he slowed Pyre, it didn't stop him as the boy slowly stood up, his wounds smoking as he rapidly healed.

"Stay down!" Nemoto yelled as he fired on him again, hitting what he was sure were vial spots: his head, his neck, his lungs, his heart. Yet all it did was make the boy smile even wider.

"Really, I regularly set my entire body aflame till not even a drop of blood or a shred of muscle and bone remains. Did you really think some bullets would do me in? You really are the arrogant sort." In truth, Pyre was just happy that his training with the rest of the Thunder was paying off, namely his ignition time, as if he had been caught unaware of that, and maybe he would be dead. But considering he had been egging the cloaked man on, he had kept his guard up, and as soon as he felt dizzy, he had activated his quirk.

By the time that first bullet had made a home for itself in his skull, his brain was already half-boiled.

But it was all worth it to feel their fear, to know that they were trapped with him and he could finally have some fun. Deciding to get rid of this annoying dizziness, Pyre took a deep breath, his head turning in Sasaki's direction, the man hanging from the pipes overhead.

The man was drunk, not stupid, and realized what would happen. "Crap!" He let go of the pipes and fell onto the floor. Painful, but far better than suffering burns as Pyre's blast of flames struck where he had just been, blasting apart the wiping and wiring, causing the lights around them to flicker as smoke started to fill the space, along with the glow of molten metal that dripped onto the floor, each splat followed by a sizzling.

"Sasaki, get out of here now. Master Overhaul needs to know about this!" Nemoto yelled, trying to stop his hands from shaking as the lights in their neck of the passage died, their last flickering allowing both to see the pearly white teeth of fiery death and eyes that burned with a hungry glee before they did shut off.

A moment later, Pyre struck. Blitzing past Nemoto, Koharu lunged at the man and bit into his wrist,  throwing his aim off as he shot into the wall. For his part, Pyre closed the distance between him and punched him so hard that his mask shattered. His fist nearly knocked the man's jaw off, sending teeth, spit, and blood flying as he carried through with the strike and sent the now unconscious drunk into the ground with a hard thud.

"Wow…you aren't the best, are you?" Pyre asked as Nemoto struggled to see him with how little light there was. He struggled to move as Koharu wrapped around him, proving stronger than she looked. "I was expecting…more, but maybe that's why Overhaul went and forced Rappa to join; you all just don't have that spark."

“Damn you-!” Pyre stomped on his ankle, breaking it. Before the man could scream, Pyre clamped his mouth shut, his grip so tight it hurt the wounded yakuza.

He leaned in, nice and close, allowing the man to see his face clearly. “Shush, you don’t get to speak, little man. Not when you’ve been such an awful person. Forcing your own gang to follow Overhaul’s madness under pain of death, abusing a child…” His grip was only strength, nearly to the breaking point as Nemoto struggled more against him and Koharu but found no relief.

“Killing Magne. Oh, you have plenty to answer for, but while I would like to torch your little master, that's not my job. That's okay because that means you get me!" Pyre smiled, releasing his grip on him as he stood up.

"So please, from me to yours, enjoy the flames' kiss." With a smile as bright as the sun on his face, his jaw fell open, and from it, a torrent of flames rushed out. Nemoto had no chance, no time, and got no mercy as he was engulfed in flames, some as Sasaki, who woke up from the intense flames eating away at him. Both screaming and writhing in agony as they were burned alive, all while Pyre watched with a gleeful smile as the shadows of flames danced across his face.

Koharu’s warning came too late as a fist came for his gut, bending Pyre across it before he was sent flying through the smoke and flames and out the other side, landing in an embarrassing pile and pain. “Okay, ow!” He slowly got up, his gut actually bruised and healing from that attack.

Its origins became clear as someone walked through his blaze, untouched by the flames that seemed to pass through him.

“What did you do?” Lemillion asked, his face nothing but serious. He had arrived, hoping to catch Chisaki, only to stumble upon the sight of one of Japan's most wanted villains smiling after he torched two people who, yakuza or no, didn't deserve such a grisly end.

Pyre huffed as he stood up, dusting off himself, though it wasn't useful when his adorable clothing was already stained with blood. "What I always did was share the blessings of the flames. But don't worry, Mr. Hero…wait, who are you?" Koharu rolled her eyes and asked if that was necessary, with Pyre turning part of his attention to her. "Yes, I know, but it's impolite not to know his name when he knows mine."

“Lemillion.” Lemillion didn't move, as he had no means to know if this was merely bait to get him close enough for the villain to try and burn him as he had so many others.

“Oh, yes, Lemillion, thank you for that!” Pyre's smile was nearly pleasant, friendly, and bright. It would have been disarming if one didn't know of his track record or if Lemillion couldn't still hear the final whines of the villain's last 2 victims. "Now, as I said, you don't need to worry about me, Lemillion. I’m not your enemy today.”

“And yet you’re here. What, did the Shie Hassaikai hire you? Are the rest present as well?” Lemillion knew that the League could be involved, but the chances had been low considering how things turned out in what they knew to be their last meeting. But the Thunder? They were so much worse. If someone like Mummy, Slice, or God forbid, Chimera lurked around down here, waiting to ambush the rest.

Mercifully, Pyre dispelled part of that theory. "To answer your first question, I was, in fact, not hired by the Shie Hassaikai, Overhaul, Chisaki, or whatever you want to kill him. I was hired by Shigaraki because he wanted to ensure he got his payback after that Overhaul did in their first encounter."

“You’re here to kill him?” Lemillion asked, his eye going to his back for a moment before turning back to Pyre, who shook his head.

“Kill? No. The Thunder does not kill.” Guess the reports weren’t lying about the villain’s insanity and warped worldview. Pyre continued without ever knowing what thoughts were going through Lemillion’s head. "I'm here to ruin him, and it sounds like things have already started. Your attack was a bit of a surprise, but I do love a good surprise."

'This guy is no joke. He can't hurt me with his flames, but I've heard about how his own body can shift into flames in moments and that he can take considerable damage.' He looked the villain over, counting how many bullet holes he seemed to have in his robes, still bloody. Yet the boy, young enough to be just another first year if he had been in U.A, looked right as rain.  ‘Looks like he already has.’

“At least you have a good head of your shoulders. You’re trying to find an opening, treating me like a threat.” Pyre smiled at how guarded Lemillion got at being called out for that. "You'll be surprised how often people neglect that; it almost makes the exceptions complimentary." Well, it wouldn’t have done much for them, but still.

"However, you, hero, have a choice, and you and I both know which you'll pick: You can either see me as a threat you need to handle and try to take me down," he said, placing his hand on his chest. A smile formed on his face as Koharu raised her head.

But then she seemed to smirk at Lemillion as Pyre stood aside and gestured down the passage. "Or you can take my word for it and rush on ahead. We're not far from Overhaul's location, and he does have Eri with him.”

“You knew about her?” Lemillion’s face only grew harsher, something Pyre picked up on.

“Only recently, and since we discovered that, we’ve been working to undermine and destroy Chisaki so that Eri could be rid of him.” He replied that he didn't wish the man to believe he had any role and tried to fight him.

“And how do I know you’re not lying?” Lemillion still didn’t move, a smart choice but one that was bleeding both of their time.

“You don’t, and to be honest, there’s not much I can do to prove my worth right now.” Pyre shrugged, but then a thought came to mind, and his smile grew wider. "But, I have a neat little trick which puts me in as much.

Line Break

“Allow me to be clearer,” Chisaki and Chrono turned away from Lemillion, spotting a figure approaching from behind the hero. You're going to die down here." Right as he finished that statement, flames came, setting part of the hallway ablaze. They narrowly missed Lemillion, who dodged out of the way and sank a bit into the wall before shooting out of it.

Approaching, Pyre looked over the scene. It looked like things had panned out as he thought they would, and with Lemillion’s quirk, he didn't need to worry about timing as he couldn't harm the guy, well, not without a serious effort. “Overhaul, how’d he get past?” He turned his eye to the yakuza, who continued to walk off, having deemed the issue beneath him.

"That's something we should be asking you," Overhaul replied, almost bored with the situation. However, Koharu could sense anger in him. This notion pleased both her and Pyre. "You're here as security, and yet you're not very good at it."

“Well, pardon me, but it was hard." Pyre pouted as Lemillion got up and seemed to get ready to fight Pyre with his attention off him.

“What was hard?” Chrono asked, turning his head enough to see how Pyre was smiling.

“Keeping all this smoke in without making it obvious.” Without pause, a jet of thick, hot smoke shot out of Pyre’s jaws, quickly filling the passage up and racing towards Overhaul and Chrono, both momentarily surprised by the shock faded. They had never trusted Pyre and wouldn’t hesitate.

They’ll get the chance to prove that as Pyre came rushing out of the smoke, an arm having already shifted into magma and stone as he moved in to strike at Chrono. The white-haired villain reacted by sending the minute hand of his hair to Pyre, who reacted oddly.

He didn't dodge it, burn it, or even try to grab it. Instead, as his minute hand made contact, Pyre's other hand came up. It severed his right arm from the elbow, splattering magma like a leaking water gun, forcing Chrono to take a step back.

“Chisaki!” Using the confusion, Lemillion dived into the walls and came out in front of Overhaul, who swung a hand out to slaughter him, but it passed through the hero without harming him as Lemillion landed a punch to Overhaul's face. At the same moment, his kick passed through Eri and hit Chrono in the face, sending him tumbling, Eri falling out of his arms.

Lemillion was quick to grab her and move back, Pyre getting in the way of Overhaul, who recovered much faster than both hero and villain anticipated, his hand reaching out as Pyre, in turn, kicked at Overhaul, who was ready this time. With but a touch, Pyre's leg exploded in a horrific scene of blood and gore, which only seemed to affect Lemillion and Eri as Pyre, using just one hand and an arm, pushed back and landed next to the hero, heavily wounded.

“Please, don’t fight him! He’ll kill you!” Eri cried out as Pyre turned her way, a bright smile on his face.

“Don’t worry about me, little one.” In a burst of flames and smoke, his leg reformed within seconds. However, it was bare from the underwear down, considering Overhaul had disassembled his pant leg and the leg. Flexing his toes, he stood without issue and did the same for his arm. "It'll take far more than that to kill me."

Overhaul seemed furious about this, though he was still trying to hide it, and Pyre couldn't help but dig deeper into the knife. "The old man seemed devastated when I woke him up and told him what you've been up to. It's hard to believe it, but I could tell he truly loved you from his eyes. And knowing how to fall you've fallen broke his heart, Chisaki Kai."

“You…you did this?” Overhaul softly asked, though Eri whimpered as she recognized that tone. He took it when he was furious and when someone was going to die because of all.

"Of course I did. My flames exist to help people, and when I heard that you put your father in all but name into a coma after a bad argument,” Pyre spoke casually, but just like Chisaki, he harbored a deep loathing for what stood before him. "Well, I would have been awful if I didn't try and help. After that…well, getting them to turn on you wasn't hard. Monsters like you don't earn much love or loyalty."

Chisaki had to breathe to ground himself and keep his anger in check as he looked to their rear, wondering when the rest would show up. Pyre caught the look, and despite how much he wanted to just break the man, his smile grew wider, stretching so far that he revealed a big white smile filled with nothing but villainous intentions. "I wouldn't worry about the other two. As your drunk and lie detector has been given proper hot treatment, as for the rest of the bullets and whatever loyalists you still have,"

Overhaul was incensed. This entire raid, the boss waking up, was connected. It had to be, though he was too angry to figure out the how. Only the why, and it was being held in that stupid blonde's hands. "All this because of that girl? I had to do much to get where we are, including cleaning up after that girl."

"You know this goes, don't you, Eri? " Eri shivered as he spoke. You act out, you misbehave, and because of that, I have to clean up the mess and make up for your selfishness."

“Shut up!” Both Lemillion and Pyre yelled later, bleeding smoke out of his lips and nose. They looked closer to an enraged dragon, while Lemillion looked like a force of nature in his own right. He was the one who yelled at Chisaki. “How could you say that to your own daughter?!”

“He has no children, and if he did, I wouldn’t deserve them.” He looked at Pyre, who kept a furious gaze on Chisaki. At last, he could finally act on the knowledge he had learned the night before. He could finally well and truly vent, and he'll ensure this entire damned underground burned for it.

"Eri is the granddaughter to the true boss of the Shie Hassaikai. He had entrusted you to figure out her quirk when it first activated. But instead of being there for her in such a scary time, of showing her the love and care she, a child, has every right to, you hurt her. You abuse her and have the gall to stand here spewing nonsense…" As he spoke, he placed himself before Lemillion, not for his sake.

But to ensure that Chisaki couldn’t continue to scare Eri.

“I won’t kill you, but after I’m done with you, you will wish I did," Pyre told him, as he already was plotting ways he could make this one suffer.

“Is that a fact?” Overhaul responded, raising his hand to reveal he had removed a glove before he fell to his knees and placed a hand on the floor. The next moment, it all exploded and formed into a wave of spikes that raced towards the two.

Line Break

When it came to writing this, I was in a bit of a bind as I wasn't sure if I should end things here…so I decided not to, as I could fit some extra stuff if I split the story into part 1 and part 2. After all, with all the changes made and the presence of Midoriya along with Toga and Twice and, you can imagine that things will get real messy as Overhaul’s already been undermined.

Line Break

Lemillion: Wait, we’re working together?

Pyre: Of course we are! We’re not monsters.

Bakugo: This…is weird as hell.

Pyre: Just focus on handling your problems; we'll handle this one, Kacchan.

Suneater: Kacchan?

Bakugo: Dammit, Pyromanic!

Comments

Dude, this is nuts! I can’t wait to see what happens next! Will izuku take eri? Will the hero’s take eri!? Will Eri think Izuku is cool or bad!? I can’t wait to find out!!!
