somehow my mid hazel eyes (most european people cant even tell what they are because they look way darker with no direct light) get noticed way too often in japan. usually i wear contacts that don't change my eye color but rather just make my eyes bigger, but some of my classmates thought the color comes from the contacts too. i'd assume it is because most asians have black or really dark brown eyes and aren't used to anything lighter than that? not sure,,
in general i get really strange compliments from my classmates, which make me go ???? all the time. one time a girl said that i look beautiful because im white as a wall??????? (whatever that meant)

2025-05-26 08:06:54 +0000 UTCAt least in that photo you posted, the contact in reflects light differently on the outside half of the eye and dulls the colour, so I can see what they're saying. There's absolutely no chance I'd notice irl between different days though, I don't even notice when my own eyes look more blue or green on different days
