Weekly Update - New Release, Upcoming Commissions and Nurses

"Why you starin', dork? Take a picture, it'll last longer!"

---

I believe my hard work all month-long has paid off, as shown in the new episode for my game Don't Flex On Me Yumi-Chan!!!, which got released two days ago. It's a long, involved episode that should keep you busy for a nice evening with our girl Yumi.

Also, now that the cat's out of the bag about her new look, I can finally create promo material with Yumi's polka-dot retro-inspired summer dress. It's always a tricky thing to commission alternate clothes for character sprites : it takes the artist's precious time to create something that definitely adds charm to the game, but it's not as powerful as a new CG scene. So, should I commission more alternate costumes for characters? Or would you rather have more CGs? That's the dilemma I find myself in.

I don't want to spoil any future content for the game, but I had this idea of having the girls play the tabletop RPG with Hiroshi and the protagonist, and so this raises the question : should I have 'medieval fantasy' costumes made for Yumi and Rin to illustrate their adventures? It's a lot of time and resources involved, and requires advance planning that I am unsure I can pull off on Peach Punch's current budget. Oh well.

Speaking of commissions, I might have painted myself into a corner. Sorry!

I commissioned Manob0028 new art for The Bodyguard Girl 2, and it should arrive by the very end of August. Which might be cutting it too short. Similarly, new art for the next episode of Yumi-chan is also scheduled to arrive during the last week of August.

I have no more art made in advance for either games, so whichever arrives first will have to suffice.

This puts me in a position where I am unsure on which game I should put my efforts for the month of August. I might make a poll about it, ask you guys which one would you rather see made, and under which conditions or contingency plan if I cannot deliver on time. This is basically a content creator's worse nightmare. We'll see through it together, I'm sure.

On another note, I've gotten my hands on Nope Nope Nurses, a femdom visual novel that's currently on sale on Steam. I liked the premise and I realized it had been a while I hadn't played an adult game (even though I make them!).

So I decided to give it a spin, and I came (ha!) out of the experience with a few observations. I noticed they re-use every of their CG scenes at least once, which is something I started experimenting with in my Yumi-Chan game. So that's standard, I guess. Hope you do not mind when I do it.

Also, the game is unrelenting in its rhythm. H-scenes follow one another at breakneck speed and it made me self-conscious about my own games. I think it's okay if my games have different rhythms. A game like The Bodyguard Girl 2 is rather fast-paced, and you get to the CG scenes real fast, whilst Yumi-Chan really takes its time and rewards you with a CG scene only after you've read through a significant amount of story. Once again, hopefully you are okay with this.

Finally,  I tried to pay attention to the length of the game's h-scenes, since I've been struggling to find that sweet spot between too-short and too-long. My time with Nope Nope Nurses has informed my work on Yumi's bedroom scene I just added to the latest episode of the game. Did you notice? Did you think the scene was woefully too short? Just the right length? Or that it was dragging on for too long? I feel I got it just right, but I am open to differing opinions.

And that's it. I start the month of August with a lot on my mind, both in terms of Peach Punch and my own personal matters. I'm usually someone who prefers to lead a quiet, simple life, and this summer has made it quite difficult to do so. Please, life, leave me alone!!! Haha.

I'll try my best to go back to the simple, quiet lifestyle I enjoy so much. Same goes for you guys, don't put too much on your shoulders, alright? We'll see each other next week for another update.

Until then, stay safe out there!
