I mean think about it, if you are the last of your species, what you need to do is to get as many children as you can to continue the species, become the new Adam. Anyway, the point of the movie like you says, is that Superman is who he is because of who raised him, not who give birth to him (basically Nature vs Nurture). Ps. James Gunn the director also made a horror movie about Superman (what if Superman is evil). Its called Brightburn and I think that would be an interesting movie watch too
