Duke was using the Dreamscape to travel to other worlds again, and his last trip was to the world of the Teen Titans. In his stay, he left his most prized gadget behind, and by the time he left his simulation, where his invention was the whole time surprised him. Starfire found the expansion beam on the streets, and had been carrying it around ever since. Judging by how she still had it in her possession she had not shared it with the other titans yet. Though she did not want them to see what the beam had done.
Various plants had been zapped, and they were all entirely round. Amused, she wanted to see if she was affected by it too, and sure enough, it did...
