Its a perplexing feeling to want to make something desperately, but having no real gut feeling or inspiration. That's where I think this lies. Just a forgettable video. It happens.
I am continuing to think of new ideas, but not trying to rush anything.
But in good news the new melvin is coming along amazingly and should be finished this week!

The only thing I’d change is the idea of Hank referring to himself and calling himself ‘the propane’, maybe saying he’s been enlightened or blessed by Lady Propane to spread or message; it’d be cool to think of propane as a type of chore or mana, too. Maybe only some people can handle this gift, most die but few will be chosen to spread the gospel, like the Raatma from VHS 94

Since the topic seems to be “What is this Missing?” as far as the comments, I’ll just say these usually have a stronger lore backbone either with the real folktalk of the yokai or the established fear of shitting in public. This one banks off of Hank and his love of propane, but his ascension seems disconnected beyond the joke that Propane is itself some type of deity or vehicle for enlightenment. It makes sense, but it isn’t as resilient as it’s other thematic brothers. It also retreads the “come and see” narrative you seem to use when the idea isn’t particularly inspiring to you. All the same, I really liked it. I became a fan from Jawbreaker getting algo attention, so this type of animation from you is always an easy thumbs up from me. That being said, I like all your other fans see where you’re coming from and 100% support you!

Kinda see what you mean by saying you weren't inspired, it felt a bit more "serious" and less parody oriented compared to some* of your other work (if that makes sense). Almost in the same vein as Yokai Bob, where you grabbed an existing IP, twisted it, but still imprinted an interesting and serious topic on top of it. I guess that perhaps what was missing (edit: or needed to be more obvious) here was a "message/moral", or something to that effect to have us latch on to the characters. Obviously, just my opinion, and likely projecting my own interpretations over your work.

Bill is the perfect sweet/naive character to stumble upon the horror too. But I agree that its lacking the depth and meaning that meatcanyon animations have. My 2 cents is there's a lot of concept worth building off of but it currently feels too shallow. I liked the Dale ending too.

Your videos always seem to have a moral undertone to them that leaves us captivated, but this one fell flat. It was still great for the sake of what it was. Did you straight up get Mike Judge to voice these guys or is it ai? I think the “not feeling it” vibes are coming from the plot. To me it seems like it’s not AS outrageous or lovecraftian as your regular stuff. It just feels like straight up murder lmfao I think it’s still a crazy solid toon and worth being proud of.
