I think you hit the nail on the head. I believe the best area for effective horror is taking things that may be loved and positive and turning them on their head. There’s nothing darker than when what seems to be brightest and innocent turn rotten. More is at stake, more love invested not just (like you put it) boring and easy. Kids? blindness cure? goes so badly he rips his own child-eyes out. Oh Papa you shouldn’t have ! ❤️🫡🥪
