So about a year or 2 ago, I discovered an inflation scene from a story called "A Wonderful Day" by Robert Arthur. This story was published around the same time Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was first published. I simply needed to see how this scene played out, and a friend from my Discord group managed to find the story it came from. After reading it, I felt it would be fun to make an illustrated sequence of this, and I got swamped with other projects. In the time between then and now, I think I have some time to add to this sequence little by little.

The first big development being the character being inflated. Mrs. Edward Norton is described to be a bitch, and her fashion, attitude, and connections make this aspect of her personality all the clearer. I had one design for her, but it was since scrapped due to just not having much time to finalize it. A few things I thought would be important is when the story takes place and what was trending for the time, so the scene takes place roughly around the time the book was being written, so the mid 1950's. I had a little help getting a good design for Edward Norton right, and here is the result of the concept hunting.
