State of the Damaged
Added 2020-10-30 07:04:40 +0000 UTCAs many of you know, I have several health conditions that make it expedient that I stay away from people right now. These leave me able to get sick and infected really easily.
A leg injury I got about 10 months ago seemed to be healing (slowly), but recently showed signs of infection. I went and got some broad antibiotics and the wound cleaned out and they swabbed it to find out what it was infected with.
The test came back with nothing out of the ordinary and the antibiotics didn't do squat. My doctor is worried that the infection might be in the bone (that's really bad), so he got an x-ray and I will be getting a bone-scan in the coming week.
Why am I unloading all this? I get leg pain on and off during the day, and the doctor doesn't want me on more than mild painkillers so I don't ignore when there's more serious pain—this makes writing a... pain.
I won't be suspending my patreon yet—I have been keeping up—but if I start falling behind in the coming month, I'll pause my patreon until I'm caught up. What this means is that if I find myself unable to write at my normal pace—I will pause your payments for a month while I catch up. I've heard too many horror stories of people getting behind in their patreons—and am too professional in what I do—to allow that to happen to me.
Before anyone asks—no, I don't need money. Our public healthcare here means I am no more out of pocket than any normal month. I am just letting everyone know the state of things so nothing comes as a surprise.
