An update on sales tax/VAT/GST
Added 2021-07-25 19:35:14 +0000 UTCHi patrons,
We wanted to give you a heads up about a small change to required tax on pledges. Patreon already adds sales tax/VAT/GST to pledges from patrons in most US states and several other countries—anywhere that’s required by law. They’re now required to start adding tax in a few new places: Canada (other than Quebec where Patreon already charges QST), Thailand, Florida, and Kansas. If you live in one of those places, you should see a small amount of tax added to your pledge starting July 15th for per post, and August 1st for monthly.
If you have questions, you should be able to find answers here. If you still have questions, the best place to get an answer is from Patreon’s customer support team, here.
If this affects your ability to pledge via Patreon, please consider using our GitHub Sponsors link. GitHub is waiving fees and more of your donation is provided to the team.
Thanks for your support,
Dan, Adam, Dom and the Pi-hole Team

We've been granted SEPA for Euro payments via our Stripe processor. We're waiting now for our donation software to be able to enable specific currencies for specific processors and that will be set up. If we enable it now then all payments in all currencies would show SEPA as a payment option and that breaks the donation software when you select SEPA for US Dollars via PayPal as an example.

2021-08-24 16:17:28 +0000 UTCSame here, just switched to sponsorship via Github and would appreciate the possibility to use SEPA.
2021-08-24 09:41:39 +0000 UTCThanks Dan! All good, was just wondering in general if this is planned, since I don't like the extra tax fees added on top when using Patreon (been a Pi-hole donor here for some years). I too will move over to GitHub sponsorship for my donations. If you support a direct SEPA transfer for EURO in the future, I'm sure you'll update the community. Keep up the great work!
2021-08-04 19:46:07 +0000 UTCHi Fabian We'd like to support SEPA. We do have accounts with TransferWise to provide us with that service but our current donation software has some issues with multiple currency donations. If you'd like to donate directly you can email me at dan.schaper@pi-hole.net and I can give you our account numbers for the currency that you'd like to donate with. I've contacted Stripe to see if we can enable SEPA via that gateway and we're trying to get things set up there as well if you don't feel comfortable with manual direct donations.

2021-08-04 15:18:41 +0000 UTCAre you planning to support direct donations via Wire transfer/IBAN for users who are part of SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area)?
2021-08-03 07:05:07 +0000 UTCThank you for continuing to support Pi-hole.
