Will we be the same after this…? Probably not. Traumatizing, confronting, expressive, aggressive and emotional. See you tomorrow night for the chaos. If you can handle it. 9pm EST. 🖤

Barry Lyndon is very good but gets hurt I think because it looks like a boring period piece, which to many it righty is. But I remember off the top of my head the fight scene and the duel. Actually, it’s a great movie I need to rewatch. And speaking of The Killing, I could look but i’ll just ask instead. Was Rodney Dangerfield really an extra in it?

I watched this one too early in life and remember actively feeling icky . Maybe 6th grade. Good flick though

They should put this reaction on the DVD. That was a BLAST! I actually applauded more than once! Totally agree about how this movie is so one of a kind and how amazing it is to see movies that break out of the box like this. Kubrick just takes your face and drags it into the movie screen! "You will watch THIS." Every shot. He ain't just directing the cast and crew; he's directing the audience!!! ***. And I love that you got to see how he followed up the slow, hypnotic-paced 2001 with this dazzling, fast-paced mind-blower! Which only makes me hope that your next Kubrick is what he followed "Clockwork" with: "Barry Lyndon" (1975)!!! ( I can't remember if you've already seen Barry Lyndon; I think you might have?). PS: Plus the essential early Kubrick: "Lolita". (1962 - probably the best-acted Kubrick movie), "Paths Of Glory" (1957 - absolutely one of his top, greatest films) and his first real movie, "The Killing" (1956)
