It finally was made into a movie in 2012 as "John Carter". If you watch it, you will definitely see where the ideas for Superman came from.

Regarding the glass and his Clark Kent persona, would cause people to not really look at closely at him. While Superman and his confidence would draw eye attention. or just say it is a comic book movie lol. a great one at that.

I'm going to suggest Keaton's Batman. It's a lot more camp, than Superman but they are closer in tone than Nolan's or Zack Snyder's. Of course you might have to stop for Ironman if you haven't already. You said you seen Spiderman, so I'm guessing you're uptodate on the MCU?
