Happy Holidays & Update!

Hey there folks~!

Stopping by to wish y’all a Happy Holidays~ ^^

And update on the new anim, my goal was to finish by year’s end, but it seems it will need just a bit more to have it all done. There is still a bit left in the year, but I’ll be needing just a couple of days more to put the finishing touches. The final stretch now, I appreciate your patience~! ^^

Shown here is a finished shot that was pretty fun to do :)

So, be seeing y’all soon, and I hope ya look forward to the year long celebration starting next year~!

Will it be released before the end of this month

Hello~ The update is, well that I’ve been working on it day and night. Lol. Based on the nature of this work, Near the end of the process it actually becomes a time setback to take time and produce an update that is worth posting. All efforts goes into the ultimate realization of the project. I understand many are looking forward to it. I am as well to share it with you guys. As I said in my actual update though, I will be needing some time past the beginning of the year to wrap things up. I appreciate all of you that have had the patience and understanding. Now! Gotta get back to shading some frames~ ^^

You could leave us a timeframe? I understand that animating is time consuming and takes extraordinary amounts of effort, but I feel like we should be given more insight into your work process so that we can have a better understanding of your timelines. I'm not asking for daily work updates, I just feel like you could be more active in describing where you exactly are in your work process and give us a quick overview of what that entails. With those videos, Patrons could pay to see more content while also learning about how much time we should expect between animations.

Im not trying to be rude, but many of uspay for our subscriptions based on what we are promised/ what perks were get. People paying $10-$20 a month are entitled to feel annoyed when the person we're paying goes radio silent so often. The quality of the work is great, but I feel like we could get more insights into progress and more information on timelines based on how much we are paying.

I realize it can be frustrating to not know exactly when to expect something. We live in a world of online tracking and instant order status updates and for the most part, the feeling that we know what to expect up to the minute becomes mainstream. But I think there are a couple of points to make here.... The first is that Taka never actually promised a date. His statements about having an original goal of the end of the year and needing a bit more time were used as input to people's internal date calculators. Specific promised delivery dates were inferred and expectations were set based on those dates inferred by the readers. And when those assumed dates turned out to be not correct, instead of realizing the assumptions made were perhaps mistaken, it is instead turned into negativity directed at Taka. I'd bet Taka's reading these and wondering how to respond in a way that doesn't open up more possibilities for disappointment... The second point I'd like to make is that to some commentors here it seems their expectations are very "transactional". I don't know it for a fact, but I presume Patreon is a name chosen because it's an engine (platform) that enables Patrons of the arts to support artists in their endeavors to create. This concept has been around for ages and Patreon is the online global Internet implementation of the concept. Perhaps the Patreon membership is intended to be for supporting and enabling a creative person to be able to create works to share with others for their enjoyment, and not so much about "purchasing or renting or even commissioning a piece of art" (which IS transactional). Patrons are here in support of Taka for a variety of reasons and are looking for a variety of benefits from the experience. It's clear that the works produced are very high quality and full of nuance and depth in characters, situations and stories. It says to me that Taka cares very much about what his work says about him and that he wants to be able to feel proud of his work. After all, it is creative work, and this is the Internet, where once something is released there's no taking it back. So I'd like to join some of the others here that show positive support and encouragement, as this is most certainly going to support Taka's creative flow and enable him to complete this work and share it with us all..

I do get that it's up to him whether to release or not. But on the other hand, people have paid a monthly subscription expecting his work within the time gap he's given. It's happened a few times that he didn't upload anything for more than a month prior to this, subsequently people get upset, specially if the deadlines are vague and there are no updates throughout. Yes, people should be more considerate not to stress him out but it'd be also coherent if he was more specific or posted in case there's a delay. Some people might have to renew if he takes long enough and that's what angers them. I love his work but I feel that an update, has it screenshots or not, would be appreciated so there are no misunderstandings. Hope this doesn't come off as rude, but I understand both sides as I see it.

In all seriousness, these comments shouldn’t be going in this direction. If you don’t like the way he operates, it’s simple: just leave. It’s up to him whether or not to release and when to. He did update us, so just expect it anytime this month. I get he gave an expected date, but please have some decency.
