Patreon changes
Added 2024-08-13 03:17:16 +0000 UTCOnce again, Patreon is caving to outside pressures. This time, Apple will be forcing Patreon to adopt their in-app payment system for anyone using the IOS Patreon app, which has the added effect of not allowing the per-page charging that Sabrina Online currently uses. I don't plan on making any changes here until at least the end of the year, as there is a grace period before certain payment models are cut off completely, then I will be having discussions about what changes will work best for me and all (or most) of you.
Until then, I would recommend that you NOT use the Apple iOS Patreon app when pledging to a creator or renewing, and instead do so though your standard web browser, as:
The app will not allow you to pledge to those using per-creation payments like this one after November.
App payment tacks on an additional fee which goes directly to Apple, not Patreon or the artists/creators.

I'm speculating they got paid "loads of money" to push this through. Why would they want creators to pay that 30% plus fees, and scrap the per-creation option???

2024-08-13 03:34:15 +0000 UTCI've seen others talking about this. Some have said as long as you pay through the website, the iOS app shouldn't be an issue. Don't take my word tho, I'm tired as hell atm :)
