WE WON! - Thank you all so much!

Hi all!

For those that have not yet seen the announcement from Wizards of the Coast, the news is huge!

Not only have WotC backed down from their proposed changes to the OGL but they have announced that they will licence SRD5.1 under a Creative Commons License.

THIS. IS. HUGE.

Not only does it mean that OGL 1.0a is in theory irrevocable but it also means for many creatives they will not even need an OGL at all for 5e content. Obviously WotC may come out with new SRDs in the future that will have different licensing agreements but in my opinion they are welcome to it. With the explosion of alternative TTRPGs in the wake of this whole fiasco the future is looking bright.

We have shown how strong we are as a community, we have shown that we will protect what we love and that has been amazing to see.

Over the past few weeks, you have cancelled subs, tweeted, spoken out, filled in surveys and, most astonishingly, rallied around TTRPG creators that needed your support.

This is a victory that YOU made happen! A victory for us all against a billion dollar company, that is simply amazing!

I want to offer my sincere thanks for everything you folks have done and all the support you have shown the community during this unfortunate episode.

I also wish to thank all the other TTRPG creators/influencers who spoke out as well as the WotC employees who risked their livelihoods to leak information to us when they saw what their bosses were up to.

We have shown our strength, we have shown our commitment and most importantly we have shown we will not be bullied.

It is this community that has won. Feel proud of that.
