Behind The Spotlight Chapter 14

Jennifer and Collin bought the tickets and found seats. They started watching the movie. The movie they were watching was a romance movie. It was a mid-budget movie; the production cost was $10 million.

Collin had a friend in the production crew who helped him insert Jennifer into the movie.

His client's role was a homeless hobo that asked for $20 in exchange for a blowjob... Her scene was in the first part of the movie.

"My scene is coming up."

Collin watched the screen. The male lead walked in the street and a woman who was holding a bottle of alcohol whistled at him... That was it. The male lead continued walking.

"What? What the fuck!? Where's my line? Do you know how many days I practiced those three lines!? Fuck!"

Jennifer was not lying. Her lines were:

"Hey, I'll suck your cock for 20 dollars"

After she said that line drunkenly, she whistled at the male lead who walked away.

Yet in the official release, she didn't even speak at all. She just whistled at the male lead.

It was understandable why she was disappointed.

She cursed.

Collin knew his client more than anyone, Jennifer had a foul mouth and a loud voice. Despite being a gorgeous woman, Jennifer was not demure and mindful at all.

"Let's leave this place."

"No," Jennifer bit her lip and grumbled. "I'll watch it till the end. I wasted 10 dollars for two tickets! I must watch it."

'That's why I said I'll pay for my own ticket, but you are so excited and said that you want to treat me because this is the best day of your life...'

Collin sighed and continued watching the movie. He had his reason why he wanted to talk to Jennifer. Today was just a coincidence that the movie she was in was released. The woman said that she wanted someone to talk to about her performance.

As time passed by watching the romance, the two both agreed that it was mediocre.

"The romance between the male lead and female lead seems forced. Even their lines are so cheesy that I cringed." Jennifer added.

Collin agreed.

Being small people in this kind of project, the two didn't have the influence to get the whole copy of the scripts. They had no idea what the plot of this romance movie was. They just found out today while watching.

"I heard that the director and the production studio had a dispute regarding the rating of the movie. The director wanted the movie to be R-rated, while the production studio wanted it to be PG-13. Based on what we are watching, the director probably lost. That explains why your three lines didn't pass the final editing."

Collin explained to Jennifer but the woman didn't feel good at all. She felt like her hard work was disregarded.

The movie ended and the two left the cinema. When they left the place, it was already 2 pm. Jennifer was still sad as they walked in the street.

"So what's the reason why you want to talk to me? Did I get another background character in a movie?"

"No, it's different this time."

Collin found a run-down restaurant and invited the woman to eat. Despite the old appearance, the restaurant seemed lively as it had a lot of customers.

"You bought the ticket earlier. Choose what you want; it's my treat this time."

"... This is a miracle. You have money?"

Collin shrugged and waved his hands.

His commission when he successfully found an investment for Wyatt's movie was 10%.

It meant that Collin earned $30,000 from that transaction... Well, to be clear, ANT had 3% shares of that 10% because Collin used the company's resources to make that deal.

Collin banked $21,000. Half of that disappeared to pay his debt while the remaining half sits in his account in case of emergency. In a way, Collin was not in dire need of money.

While ordering, Collin continued the conversation.

"It's different this time; your role is one of the side characters. You have dozens of lines that will surely pass the last editing."
