Quick Update on next Sylvia Update

Hello everyone,

As you all know, we have had quite a lot of things to draw and design for Chapter 4, of which Marjaana has just finished the work on backgrounds.

Did you know Sylvia plays the Sega MegaCD?   

Currently Marjaana is tackling our rebranding project, and working on our logos and the user interface. All of this is important for the identity of the game and our studio.
Soon we hope to have a magnificent wrapping for our game that matches the beauty of the contents!

We are now living an exciting transition time, as we usually do when starting a new chapter. Many of you might remember how this was when work on Chapter 3 first started.

Optimizations we have done during this period have led to smooth animations like the night boat sequence, the dream sequence and of course the spicy shower scene between Sylvia and Léa or Valérie’s memories.

The time has also come to finally work seriously on the android port and make the port official.
I must admit that I’ve experienced many issues getting Renpy android support to work (package and JPG compression), but I think I am finally in the clear, and able to work on adapting the UI to a mobile device: The game will switch to an entirely new coded interaction screen made for this portable version.

This part is very exciting and challenging to code, and I can’t wait to show you more of it!
For now let me share the loading screen welcoming the players on android.

To minimize loading time and space used, I have also compressed the games assets: Mobile version now takes half the space of the desktop version while keeping the quality high, while the unofficial port sacrificed a lot of the quality in order to save space. 

The desktop and mobile versions will also have some bug fixes, additional animations (sweat drops for everyone’s favourite Valerie scene) and translation improvements. Look forward to an update on this sometime end of next week if everything goes right!
