Calix had a dream. In his dream, he was walking in a grassland.
The grassland was so vast, almost endless. Yet Calix didn't stop walking. He didn't know how long he was walking until he reached the end.
He realized that almost endless grassland had an ending at all.
He stepped on the edge of the grassland and jumped off. He started falling.
Yet he didn't care about his free falling. His eyes stared at the whole structure.
He realized something. The grassland he was walking on earlier was not grassland. It was actually a leaf. A very huge leaf.
Calix stared at the huge structure and every leaf connected to it. In the end, he realized that the structure was a gigantic tree.
.........
......
...
Calix opened his eyes and groaned. He felt like he dreamed about something good but his mind forgot all of it.
'It's usual for a person to forget what he dreamed but still... I feel like I'm getting closer to the truth.'
He stood up and checked his surrounding. He was wearing a cloak that covered most of his body.
He was inside a cave that he found to rest in. He was already in the Western Continent for two days, he traveled a few kilometers to get to his destination.
The Triad had different hideouts and his mission was to find one of the leaders/Demi-Gods to convince him/her to side with the allied countries.
The reason why Calix couldn't travel fast was because of the Aberrants that were moving around.
Unlike the countries of the Eastern Continent, many places in the Western Continent were filled with Aberrants. These said Aberrants could rampage and attack the counties.
'I heard that most cities are in constant attack from Aberrants and small-scale wars.'
Peace was very hard to find in this place. Even the people on this continent were called savages.
Looking out the cave, Calix confirmed that it was already morning. The sun was shining.
Calix summoned a military meal from his ring and started eating to fill his stomach.
After that, he wrapped himself in a cloak and left the cave.
He was in a desert and the color of his cloak had the same color as the yellow sands, giving him a good camouflage.
He started walking. Spending energy and running was not a good decision in this place.
'Still, I have to complete this mission within a month. I have to be there with Lou and the baby.'
Just as he took another step, he sensed the rumbling of the sands. He stopped and realized that a worm-like creature came out of the sand.
The thing was... This creature was not an Aberrant. It was an animal, a real fucking huge animal.
"A yellow sandworm..."
Before going to the Western Continent, Calix read a lot of information about the place. He knew that this yellow sandworm was a common occurrence in this place.
'I heard another piece of information. Apparently, this yellow sandworm is the favorite food of the Fierce Seven Eyes Hawks and the tribesmen in this desert.'
The yellow sandworm started crawling towards him.
'This is the reason why I don't want to run fast on the sand, the worms can sense my movement.'
He sighed. Using a flying car was not good because of the flying-type Aberrants. Yet even using the ground was dangerous as well.
In the end, Calix pulled out his weapon and blasted the worm into two.
The yellow sandworm died just like.
However, Calix's adventure was not over.
"Are you serious?"
He felt like he was back from being an unlucky guy.
'That's not right, I have one more day to keep my luck. I should be lucky right now.'
Once the third day arrived, he had to contact Yuna and the others to refuel. That was the plan.
Well, Calix didn't have the time to think about his luck. Instead, his weapon transformed into a heavy machine gun and blasted the upcoming Fierce Seven Eyes Hawks! Dozens of them were getting close to him because the yellow sandworm was near him.
He didn't have a choice but to fight them.
'There's no place to hide and all I can do is eliminate as many as I could!'
Just as he thought that his situation was unlucky, another group of people showed up.
The tribesmen who were living in the desert were running to his location. They were holding wooden spears and crude weapons.
However, the thing that caught his attention was the way they run. They were using their toes to run. Because of that, the vibration they produce was weak and the sands under them were not disturbed at all.
'They can do that?'
Calix was not sure if the tribesmen were good so he pointed his cold weapon toward them. However, the tribesmen didn't look at him at all.
They started attacking the Aberrants that were trying to 'steal' their hunt.
In the end, the two sides started fighting. Leaving Calix dumbfounded.
The two sides were trying their best but it seemed that tribesmen were winning.
'Aberrants are quite weak. They are only normal and two 2nd-class Aberrants.'
The tribesmen handled the situation very well.
After defeating the Aberrants, tribesmen started glaring at the single man who was wrapped in a cloak.
"I guess I'm still lucky, huh." Kazir shrugged.
"You guys, take me to the floating Castle, or else I will beat you up!" He grinned.
