Hi friend! I'm sharing this just before 10pm (Arizona Time). Though we may be separated by distance, we're joined by the rumble of neighborhood fireworks and the smell of chemicals in the air. It's that special time of year where say goodbye to the old, and welcome (sometimes desperately) the new.
It was a hard year if we're being completely honest. When the year began, I was doing interviews with Echo, ION, Phoenix New Times, and Arizona Republic, and things were going exceptionally well. I had plans to hold a big gallery show in the Summer for Tarot, and to create a big Kickstarter Campaign for the card set.
As our Country struggled to respond to COVID-19, I made the difficult decision to delay my final chapter. When things felt safe, I would paint a few more bodies, then the numbers would go up, so I would pause once more. This continued throughout the year, and after careful (and safe effort) I'm down to the final four paintings.
They are:
Three of Pentacles
Ten of Pentacles
Three of Cups
The Magician
As you may have spotted above, I just finished editing the Five of Pentacles which was sponsored by Paul! Thank you. It features Bennett Wood, Blayde Loving, and Best Tardy!
I haven't scheduled the remaining cards yet because the number in Arizona are lousy. "As of Sunday, Arizona’s weekly average for COVID-19 positivity is at an all-time high at 27 percent."
We've lost nearly 9,000 people in Arizona so far. Please be safe this New Year's day!

On my birthday, which is in a few days, I plan on drawing and releasing my first sketch for the Magician Card. I'm really excited about this, because I have some pretty ambitious ideas, and I want to include you in the process!
If you were to ask me, which painting surprised me the most in 2020, it would be this one:

Would you believe he's a practicing Priest? And a lovely human at that! Thank you Benjamin Garren! It was a lot of fun, and a strangely beautiful sight to behold.
Which painting was your favorite? Would love to hear any memories below, or if you want to share what you plan to do next year, I'd love to hear that as well!
Thanks so much for joining me on this journey (and if you've read this far, you're pretty dang neat as well)!
Love,
Brandon McGill
