I'm glad there's not as much interconnectivity cuz it did eventually get overwhelming to try to follow everything in the MCU. Kind of curious about Suicide Squad and Peacemaker but would have to find time for them!

2025-08-22 19:02:22 +0000 UTCOk, now that I have watched the reaction, a few things: - The DCU technically started with Creature Commandos, but Gunn has said that not everything is going to be as interconnected as in the MCU so you don't need to watch it (it's pretty fun though). - A slight connection between Creature Commandos and the Superman movie is the character of Rick Flag Sr., portrayed by Frank Grillo (Crossbones in the MCU), who's the main character in Creature Commandos. He's also the father of the Rick Flag who appeared in Suicide Squad, who is also in Gunn's The Suicide Squad. - Speaking of which: The Suicide Squad and the Peacemaker show are a bit muddy regarding if they are canon to the DCU or not. Some things need to be retconned for them to make sense, but Gunn is going to save as much as he wants from those (and Peacemaker Season 2 will be an official part of the DCU). Again, I invite you to watch them since they are REALLY good. (Also, I think you'll like what The Suicide Squad has to say politically-wise.)
