This is an experiment! Some of the art assets I used are from previous releases.
In this update I...
1. Experimented with using animation software to adapt my artwork into a moving image. (This was done with a lower-res image, because I didn't realise until after the fact how important using a higher res image would be and by then I'd already done all the animation.)
2. Experimented with using the RenPy VN engine to create a basic menu and scenes.
3. Succeeded in getting the web distribution option in RenPy to sit on the FutaNanobots website.
4. Got sound working.
5. Experimented with creating a single VN character sprite.
and 6. Wrote a small script and implemented that script into a scene with some basic sprite animations.
The scene I wrote is really quite short, but again, this is an experiment.
I've tested the game on Chrome and Edge on desktop, and on Vivaldi on Android. RenPy is an opensource project so they can't always maintain full compatibility with all browsers, so if yours doesn't work, I advise grabbing one of those I've just tested and giving it another whirl.
If you're on mobile, I advise going into preferences in the game menu, setting to full-screen, and then turning your phone to horizontal mode for the best experience.
Enjoy!
PS. In case you missed it, about an hour ago I released another caption, set in the Stabilization Time Period. Double enjoy!
