Weekly Progress Report - July 17th

Weekly Progress Report

I wanted to post 0.3 today, and that was my intention. Most of the team has been chugging away at some crazy fun and interesting fixes, updates and ideas. I really want to share them with you, and they will be...probably in a couple days.

Why?

It's all on me. My role was eliminated this week unexpectedly and that threw my life into a bit of an upheaval. So, passages that I intended to have fixed, complete and ready to go just, didn't happen.

Upside? I'll have a lot more time in the short term to be able to put out content.

So. What can I tell you today? We're close and just waiting on me to finish off the college content and back fill some passages that I skipped to come back to. I really believe that will be doable in the next couple days.

And going from there, what's our intention?

Based on feedback from the team, they're playing catch-up and I think it's hurting the overall product. So, what we're aiming to do is a dev cycle that's catching up, implementing intended systems and improving the UX and UI further. We'll add in visual assets that have coded placeholders at the moment.

Content-wise we don't want a drought, so I'm going to open it up to our subscribers here and on the Discord for ideas and preferences on where I expand what already exists. And then we'll go from there.

Why are we doing this? It's called tech debt. I started this game solo and have been building the team (that's incredible) in the meantime. Some were early adds, some were much more recent. Some came onboard and didn't work out or had to depart because of life and whatnot.

But now that we have the team, all the things I had planned but couldn't do myself is still waiting to be done. If we keep steaming forward into the main game, more and more will be left behind which is...not great.

In the meantime, I hope you can wait a couple days for 0.3, which -- as Fictionary pointed out -- is far larger than I think any of you expect. Didn't realize it til it was said, but it probably is.

Anywho, now to sleep and hit tomorrow running (or typing).

Thanks for being a part of the team. Thanks for supporting the dream, the game, the vision.

And thanks for the ideas you'll be throwing our way!
