A K-pop Idol 79.2

Hey, guys!!

Before the story, I just would like to point out that this chapter addresses sensitive issues. I almost changed it while I was writing but I decided to keep my initial script because otherwise a lot of things in the next parts wouldn't make sense.

Anyway, I know this story has deviated somewhat from its initial focus in the last few chapters, and has little emphasis on the TG aspect now. Again, I'm following the script I made before starting the story, but I really didn't expect those final parts to be so long.

In the future, I'll stick to TG since I know this is the most important thing when you're reading TG fiction! :-p

Park Hara and his brother remained very close during the following months. They always spent many hours together playing, talking or just walking around the village where they lived.

However, it changed when Park Heechul turned seventeen. The boy was finishing high school, and was getting ready  for the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT). He wanted to be a great doctor, and for that he knew he needed to be admitted in a university in Seoul. The problem was that the competition was very tough, so the boy spent more than twelve hours per day in his bedroom, studying incessantly.

Park Hara, who was seven by now, was evidently missing her brother's company. But he explained to her that he had no choice, and that this would be good for the whole family. “When I'm a doctor, we will all live in a very big house, and I'll take you to know any place in the world you wish, okay? Wouldn't that be great?"

“Yeah!”

"Also, after my admission test, I will have a few weeks off before college so I promise we will have lots of fun.  Maybe by then I can convince mom and dad to let me take you to the Hallasan Mountain."

"Really?"

"Yes, but don't get so excited since I don't know if they will allow it. I'll try my best."

"You're the best brother in the world, Heechul-oppa!" she hugged him.

"Yes, I know" he laughed. “Now let me study! I still need to finish three books today!”

But despite his optimism, Park Heechul's performance in the CSAT wasn't good enough, so he didn't get a place in the college he wanted. The boy was devastated for several days, but luckily he got a lot of support from his parents and sister. After this period, he was determined to try again. He knew he couldn’t fail this time, so he would push himself even harder.

The young man began to study more than eighteen hours a day. He barely had time to sleep, and everyday Park Hara almost had to beg for him to eat something. The boy, who before had been smiling and playful, was now always serious and irritated. One day, when Park Hara suggested that maybe he should rest a little, he yelled at her, and said he didn't have time for that. The little girl then left the room in a hurry, with tears in her eyes…

When it was time for the new CSAT, Heechul was sure he would do well. He had studied tirelessly all year long, after all. He deserved it. However, he had another huge disappointment. Once again, his grade wasn't good enough, and his improvement had been insignificant.

His family said that perhaps he should try another degree. He wouldn't be a doctor, but still he would go to university. Park Heechul said they were right. He also apologized to his sister for the way he had treated her lately. Still, the girl had the feeling that there was something very wrong with him. It wasn’t just disappointment – It was like Park Heechul was dead inside.

He once again spent many days locked in his room. His family believed he needed some rest after that exhausting year, so they didn't bother him.

One afternoon, Park Hara was playing in her bedroom by herself. Her parents were working, and she had gotten used to being alone since her Heechul stopped spending time with her. Then, suddenly, she heard a strange noise coming from her brother's room, followed by some muffled cries.

"Heechul-oppa, what's going on?" she asked, knocking at his door.

There was no response. She grabbed the doorknob and saw that the door wasn't locked. She entered her room and saw her brother lying on the floor.

"Oppa, what's wrong? Wake up! Wake up now!”

She shook his body, but he didn't react. She then realized he wasn't breathing.

"No! No! You can't die! You told me you were immortal! You can't do this to me!”

But that was true. Park Heechul, who in the past had created fantastic worlds to cheer his sister up, had now shown her just how tough and cruel real life could be.
