The Times Cryptic Crossword - Definitions highlighted
Added 2024-01-26 12:27:14 +0000 UTCAs mentioned last week and in today's video, we thought it would be an interesting experiment (especially for newcomers to the puzzle) to give you the chance to try a cryptic crossword KNOWING the definitions for each clue.
So we've prepared a version of yesterday's puzzle with the definitions highlighted in yellow.
(Having done this we're now convinced that this is still VERY difficult and that actually the wordplay is vital to allow a smooth solve but let us know how you get on!)

Would it be possible to post the solution for this puzzle. Roughly half filled in - some not quite sure.

2024-02-06 06:28:15 +0000 UTCI always ignored the crosswords because there is a limit to my abilities at playing with words in English (only my third language). But this clue has grabbed my attention. I could not guess even one word, but I watched the last video about cryptic crosswords and loved it! So thanks for adding yet another way to distract me weekly! ;-)
