Monthly Reward for October - "Trick or Treat?"
Added 2023-10-01 14:59:02 +0000 UTCThank you for sponsoring the channel! As October's monthly reward, we are delighted to bring you "Trick or Treat" by Skunkworks, a collection of 6x6 sudoku puzzles that will entertain and amaze you.
Skunkworks are a collective of sudoku setters and solvers, who include some of the most widely-respected sudoku names in the world. We are very grateful to them for contributing this pack of puzzles. 6x6 might seem easier than 9x9 - fewer cells to complete, after all - but beware, the veil is very thin at this time of year!
To be in with the chance of a prize, submit the first-level word/phrase by email to crackingthecryptic@gmail.com by 4pm UK time on October 20th. To get your name on the Scroll of Honour for October, you will have to find the pack completion word/phrase. Instructions are in the document - read them all.

In puzzle 13, can the digits outside the grid be greater than 9? I know it says so in the rules but if it is the case, how can you fill them?

2023-10-03 15:55:29 +0000 UTCBOOOO! Great set! These 6x6s are so much more tractable with clever ideas and logic. I can't imagine how hard their counterpart 9x9s would be. Would love to see a solve of puzzle 12 though. It was the only one where I felt like I had to disprove a bunch of combinations to arrive at the right pair of digits that worked.
