I am happy to present Version 1.3.0 of the TOTK Randomizer! This update is bigger and it adds a new mode called "Punitive Death", which removes all common items on death. It also adds a new lucky special event, as well as new environmental changes. Furthermore, helpful changes, bugfixes and optimizations are also onboard to make the experience even better!
As I mentioned, a new mode called "Punitive Death" has been added which is a toggleable miscellaneous option for even riskier gameplay. On death, all items in every inventory tab but the Key Items tab will be removed. A new lucky special event has been added where Fairies can spawn everywhere for a limited time - this pairs especially well with the new Punitive Death mode, as the excitement of getting this lucky event would be even higher. Lastly, 10 new environmental changes have been added, resulting in a total of 100 environmental changes!
As for changes, the chance to spawn randomized actors is now higher (from 5.0% to 7.5% chance per second), resulting in more chaos faster. Navigating through the Randomizer option menus is now faster and appears smoother, and "Special Controls" tutorials in the System menu are now unlocked from the start. The chance for all enemies and animals to be reverted has been slightly increased and the chance for High Gravity, Neutral Gravity, Low Gravity and the Global Updraft to occur has been increased. The chance for directional environmental wind currents to occur has been decreased.
The chance for random teleports to occur when teleporting via Map has been decreased to make travelling less annoying and the time range a special event can be active has been decreased from 5-12 minutes to 3-9 minutes. Bears, Blupees, Cuccos and Fire Balls now spawn in slightly less crowded amounts and the special event that constantly heals the player now also recovers Gloom-infested hearts. The description texts of some miscellaneous options have been improved formatting-wise and Defeating Phantom Ganons that spawn after defeating Gloom Hands now contribute to the "Defeat - X Phantom Ganon" special goal.
As for bugfixes, a bug has been fixed where the Randomizer Cycle would neither give the player items nor change the time in rare situations and a bug has been fixed where Cloud Seagulls and Seagulls were spawning very close to the ground instead of in the air. Lastly, the environmental changes code and its memory usage has been greatly optimized (50% less code for the same result) and unnecessary code has been removed.
