August Poll Winners & Eroge Project

We have a lot of stuff to talk about but let's quickly go over this month's poll first. As you can see in the header image, it's a nep month this time with 2 nep winners. To be honest, I wasn't surprised with the result and I am happy that I'm drawing White Heart. I need to draw flat chests every now and then :3. That wraps up the poll. Next month's character suggestions will open sometime next week~

With that out of the way, let's talk about the Eroge Project I've been working on for the past month or so. The project doesn't have a name just yet, but here's the project overview (keep in mind that this is a Work-in-Progress, so things are bound to change)

Overview

The story follows Leo, a seemingly normal human up until he caused an accident and discovered that he has the gift of magic. He is then forced to live a new life as a student in the Ceres Magic Academy as he learns to control his magic.

Play as Leo and explore this new environment, meet new friends, learn magic, solve mysteries and find romance.

Gameplay

Gameplay consists of making decisions for the MC. Decisions will impact the story to varying degrees; some decisions will completely change the course of the story while others lead to small extra scenes to flesh out characters and events.

Characters

Currently, there are 3 major romance-able characters in the story, each with different themes and tone in their story. I may be able to add more characters, but I feel like these 3 and their routes are sufficient enough for now.

It goes without saying that the designs are not final. I do like most of the faces (I need to rework Elizabeth though) so maybe those won't change that much.

The profiles are still incomplete (and not very descriptive). It will be polished as development goes on, but here are quick and rough profiles:

Ashe - The star of the class. She is born into a prestigious family of wizards and has inherited a greater innate magical talent compared to her peers. Thanks to her upbringing, she developed a bit of a prima donna personality. She is normally composed and erudite but she can be unrelentingly condescending.

Mumei - Mumei is a friendly and diligent maid working at the academy. As a maid, she tends to students and the faculty needs alike. She serves as a guide for MC in his arrival. Since she can't use magic, she is able to understand and share MCs concerns.

Elizabeth - The talented instructor for Potions and Magic Artifacts. She generally has a laidback personality which bothers other teachers as well as students, but she is completely devoted when it comes to potions and artifacts. Despite being only a few years older than MC, she has already accomplished many things such as inventing new potion recipes.

Deadlines, Deadlines

I decided to put a hard deadline for this project because I desperately need a solid timeframe to work with. Without a deadline, I'll never finish this (like many of my previous projects ;_;)

In terms of progress, there's nothing done apart from a rough outline of character routes and endings and the sketch of the characters above. That sounds worrying but you gotta start somewhere. 

But with that said, I'm going to release whatever I finish on December 14, 2018. That's 126 days or 18 weeks from now. Finished, unfinished, polished or not, playable or not, I'm going to release this.

I'll also make a weekly update every Sunday (my time), because if I make it a monthly update I'll just slack off. Oh man I'm a pro at slacking off and making excuses.

Miscellany

The reason I'm only announcing this is because I had 3 other ideas I was considering. Believe me, the hardest and the most stressful part was deciding which idea to produce. I just couldn't let go of the other ideas and I wanted to make them all. That's delusional so I killed the other projects so I can work on this one. 

You know, for a supposed 'side project' this has given me way too much headache and stress... but I feel like it's going to be worth it so I'm doing it anyway haha

Alright what was I talking about again? God damn it's 6am and my brain has stopped working.

I think that about wraps up what I wanted to say. I guess I'm just excited that I got out of my funk. Thanks for reading, please look forward to more updates, and of course to the monthly fanart as well!!
