BJ, the detention teacher that looked familiar is David Leisure. I remember him most from a show called Empty Nest back in the 90's. He was also famous for playing Joe Izuzu in those Izuzu car commercials around the same time.

2025-10-21 14:17:22 +0000 UTCLot of people in this movie: Bianca's Friend - Gabriel Union. Guidance Counselor - Allison Janney from The West Wing and Mom, winner of about 7 Emmys. David Leisure, the detention guy, he was in many SitComs back in the day. Most Importantly: Heath Ledger as Patrick, Famous for "The Dark Knight" and "Brokeback Mountain" Sadly died at the age of only 28. As someone else mentioned, the building was built to be a hotel but was not finished due to budget or something. There was a fire, and eventually the Tacoma School District bought the building and made it into a High School that opened in 1906
