Progress Report
Added 2024-09-07 19:35:42 +0000 UTCFinished Vallen's path!!!
Just reached the point where the two paths will converge, and it only took me... 117 notebook pages (Vallen is a chatty one π). I know I say this every time, but I really didn't expect it to be this big ππ Chapter 3 will probably be the longest chapter of the first half of book two due to all the variation.
But I can't say I'm not enjoying it!!
I ended up not writing the clueless version of the Vallen meeting (although I have a bunch of notes because ideas kept coming at me while I wrote the other version) and went straight to Rafael β who's also guilty of size inflation π. I started writing my favorite tief on Thursday, but... do you ever get the feeling, while you're writing, that it's wrong?
Not that you're stuck, because words kept coming, but it was just... wrong. And the more I wrote him, the more that feeling deepened. So, I left it be and returned to it Friday, and oh my god. I scrapped 6 pages, began again, and finally, I got Rafael.
I lost a day's work, but I'm happier now.
I'll rest a couple of days before starting on the path where you don't meet Vallen. I found that, when I'm mentally tired, I tend to reuse dialogue and scenes from the parallel version, and I don't want that. I want this version to be completely different. It will, of course, be way smaller. But I hope that getting to witness the reunion between Rafael and Alessa should add some drama.
Even still, I don't think this path will take more than a week. Maybe a week and a half, but that's it. So, that's the goal for next week! Since I'll start writing on Tuesday, I want to be almost over with the first draft of the next update!!!
I'm sorry that, so far this month, I've only been posting Progress Reports. I really wanted to finish Vallen's path xD. But next week, I'll share a sneak peek and start working on the Bonus Content as well.
I went to a garden today and saw rows and rows of flowers. How ironic it is, just after finishing writing about flowers and trees. It's a late inspiration, but I'll take it. Nature really went all out on flowers, did it not?
I hope you have an amazing weekend!!! See you soon. β‘
