Progress Report

The ground rumbles as the cobblestones shift and grind back into their proper place.

My vacation is over! All of my family has flown back home, and alas, my house feels emptier but never empty — Nero and Nala (my dog and my cat) make sure of it.

In any case, my break is over, and while part of me mourns it, the other is very excited. Because this means I'll return to The Rose and I've missed it so (´༎ຶ ͜ʖ ༎ຶ ). I managed to do a little bit of writing in the past weeks, but it was mostly future scenes — very fun, very anticipated scenes that have been living in my head for far too long. I very rarely write ahead since it can be a pitfall, but I had the urge and so there's a poor notebook with its pages marred by horribly written, barely coherent scribbles.

It's very much a first draft, but it's a foundation, and I'll use it when I get to write the scenes properly. But!!!! I want to get there! I want to get to those revelations.

I'll leave the future in the future and go back instead to finishing the chapter. I never write on Saturday, but I just came out of a break and I'm really itching to finish the chapter!! I bought a beautiful notebook in Lugano (a city I completely fell in love with. I never thought there would be another city that could compete with Lisbon for my heart but here it is) and I want to fill it!!!!!!

So that is it! Progress Reports will be back every Friday. I want to leave the warm, sluggish summer behind me. Reality is knocking, it's time to settle into a routine.

I hope these last few weeks have been amazing. If, like me, you've been on vacation, I hope it was everything you wanted it to be, and you got the time to recharge before going back to work or school. 🌹
