New Prerelease - Comic Book Effects! (A Speed Tutorial)

Hey everyone, new tutorial alert!

COMIC BOOK STYLE EFFECTS IN PHOTOSHOP

A few old Texturelabs tricks in this one… plus a few new ones… all jammed into a very dense 145 seconds. I thought it would be fun to mix up the format a bit with a Speed Art/Tutorial hybrid. To balance it out, written steps are also on the tutorial page on the Texturelabs site.

I’m also working on some new vector elements this month that should go nicely with this vid… Here are a few fresh ones!

More on the way. As always, a huge thank you for your support!

Sorry for the trouble with the site... Probably this issue that pops up with Patreon, where they don't process new user information immediately. It usually works in a few hours (always within 24 hours) So... it should start working soon, but in the meantime, I keep all the tutorial files on a Google Drive as a backup: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cJigz6C-v3H_9wxdY6gR9imD-P9JE2Ml?usp=sharing The burn transition project is called Texturelabs_BurnoutProject.zip Apologies about the Patreon setup... A big part of the reason for shifting off the platform soon! Cheers and thanks Brady

Hello, I subscribed to expert level and still I can't download the AE of this tutorial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgLHKw_BmLs :(

Very cool, glad to have your support Chuck! It's also nice to imagine that gold effect in printed form... I've only ever used it within "screen space". You know what's funny - that tutorial, I'm not sure if it was the first thing I recorded, but was the idea that prompted making tutorials at all. I stumbled on Photoshop gold video on YouTube with over a million views... Not to diss anyone's work, but you could never sell that look to a client. I thought, "alright, let's do this!" Anyways cheers and thanks chuck!

I love the Speed Tutorial. Brady gets right to business. Click on the YouTube screen and it stops, click again and it goes or use the arrows keys to back up and go forward. I hate tutorials with no sound, can't see the screen or minutes worth of the cat videos as a prelude. I can create my own versions of text for money but I often miss the subtleties of adding textures. I followed Brady's tut to the letter on his recent gold text tut.....then netted $300 the same day. The realism texture adds is a study in and of itself. AKA experience. I can't believe how cool and real my artworks looks coming out the printer.... the customer was stunned. I became a patron because of the experience.
