NEW TEXTURES
I’ve been in the zone this month working on grungy paper… It’s funny how obsessive one can get trying to create distress and details that look accidental. In any case, it’s been a fun mess to make. Most of the new textures ended up in a new subcategory of the Paper section called “Grungy”, with a few in the Folded Paper category and larger Grunge category.
NEW TUTORIAL
In keeping with the theme, the new tutorial this month focused on a simple technique that combines well with grunge. So far, it’s gotten more views than any other Texturelabs video in the time since posting… Who’d have known it? It’s funny, my instincts for what might perform well always seem to be the opposite, but I suppose that’s why it’s important not to overthink it; create fun stuff and set it free…
COMING SOON
It’s usually my goal to post a video every two weeks… I’m a bit behind schedule, as the next video is an ambitious one. I’ve been meaning to post an After Effects tutorial for some time just to mix things up. However, since it’s somewhat of a new format, it’s taking me a touch longer to work out the kinks. That one’s on the way though!

In other news, the Youtube channel just may cross 100k subscribers this month! Pretty wild - I wonder if they’ll send me one of those little plaques. That being said, while having a big round number like that on Youtube is exciting, it’s the community here that I feel the most grateful for. Thank you for the support and have a great month!
