March 2021 and some awesome brushes to try out!
Added 2021-04-02 02:56:26 +0000 UTCHey everyone,
Hope all is well with you!
All good here at the lab; a couple new tutorials and a few coming up that I’m really excited about. I’ve been digging deep into this Art History Brush Tool - have you guys experimented with this thing? At first it seems a little gimmicky, but once you start really tuning in some custom brushes, you can get some INSANE looks out of it. I’m working on a tutorial to create an Oil Paint look this month, so I’ll probably make one set of brushes available on the website, but I’ve come up with a bunch of ‘em and thought you guys might want to try out a few.
Here’s a link to a set of pencil brushes - maybe I’ll do a video on these specifically at some point, but for now they’re just sitting in the arsenal. I believe I can attache the brushes to the Patreon post below, but if that doesn't work, here's a link:

If you haven’t used the Art History brush tool, simply open any image (something flat like a jpg), import these brushes into the brushes palette, select one, and start scribbling around. It doesn’t matter what your foreground or background colors are - it samples colors based on the History of your document. I’ll explain that a bit more in the tutorial, but give it a shot! Here’s a sample - no brush skills required, all I did was scribble around…

The usual wrap up - two new tutorials up this month, one more posting on Monday. A few new textures in the pipeline... You can probably tell my brain is in about four places at once, probably because I just keep getting more exited about the whole project.

A huge thank you for the continued support. Hit me up any time with thoughts or questions. Have a great month!
Cheers,
Brady
